I guess I am not sleeping New Years Eve. To get there by 7 AM at the latest I would have to leave my place by 6 am....after being out until 3 am and getting home..then trying to sleep for 2 or 2 1/2 hours......nope, I will sleep after the run.

Yeah, that'll be the one time they have a CHP sobriety check point on the 215/91/55 and 22 and all my fire dept. stuff won't get me out of a ticket...but thanks for the idea!!!

I'll join on the next cruise because I won't be able to make the event on the 1st. Maybe I'll see some of you at the Cars and Coffee in Irvine in January

See you there!
Where are we going... are we gonna eat?
This some info I found.

January 1st 2012 the 9th Annual “Tour d’Orange”. A two hour tour of some of Orange County’s best two lane roads. Arguably the first car event of the year. Stay tuned.

Do we know any more info?

Well Scott, since you've never been to The Block, here is the agenda.

This is usually secret stuff that I only devulge before the cruise from The Block...butttt, I'll describe what we're going to be doing.

1-Meet @ KK, anytime before 7 AM, BS and leave at 7:30 AM Sharp
2-Leave @ 7:30 SHARP following map in 1st post.
3-Arrive at destination at time described in 1st post, park with approx. 250-300 other cars of every type known...all show cars.
4-BS with everyone and take in the cars and get a cup of coffeee and donut before everyone else.
5-Get maps of route at approx. 8:30.
6-Leave on cruise at 9 AM with approx. 250-300 other cars
7-We try to stay with each other, but sometimes it's not possible. Last year I was with 1950-60's mini coopers and even got to do something at a signal...it was great watching and hearing that little mini going thru all his gears trying to keep up.

The year before we were behind a pure white 1920 Rolls Royce Phantom, what a huge automobile. The year bfore we were behind Mustangs and they got us lost for a time...but it was a great time!

7-The route takes us down south on PCH, up thru Laguna Canyon, up thru Santiago Canyon (going the opposite way when we do the run with The Block) back down thru O.C. and end up about 2 miles from where we started.

8-We all park in a mall and have a car show. There are many places to eat within walking distance...a few hundred feet.

Whew, that's it in a nutshell Scott!

Hope to meet and see you at The Block,

Sparky

I was hoping to try and make this event but it looks like the snow is not going to cooperate with several more storms due in before new years the roads will continue to be icy and covered with cinders (crushed volcanic rock that loves paint). I'll know more as we get closer but 5 inches of snow expected tonight!
