Default Anyone in San Diego/OC have a long tube setup installed?

Seriously considering one of these setups, but I want to see and hear one installed first. I am thinking of the LG setup with X-pipe.

I live in Aliso Viejo. If you ever come up the 5 in my direction, I'd be happy to let you hear my car. It has LG long tubes, x-pipe, and Borla Stingers. I get compliments on the way my car sounds daily.

Excellent! My folks live in Fountain Valley, so I make my way up there quite often. I will PM you next time I make the trip. Thanks.

I have the exact set-up and I am always getting compliments. One from a cop who said, "you sounded fast"...

I'm no expert on this topic but I do live in SD. I know smog requirements aren't the same in every CA county. With that said, if you can find a set of Long Tube Headers that have a CARB number, you'll be good to go but its my understanding there is no such animal. The best you can do, smog-wise, in SD County is short tube headers.

Anyone, please confirm or deny what I've posted because, like I said, I'm pretty much repeating hearsay.

Correct. There are no CARB legal long tube (LT) headers. If there were everyone would have them. Long tubes move the OEM catalytic converters from there original position and that is a big no no with CARB. There are a number of CARB legal shorty headers available. But I hear they only yield approximately 10 rwhp.

Mine is an 08 LS3 A6 with Npp's and American Racing long tubes.
I'm in Poway if you are interested in a drive/ride/listen.
It's Bad *** with the mufflers open. Bad ***.

I appreciate all the replies and offers! I can confirm there are no CARB certified long tube headers. I did some research beforehand.

I have no doubt these sound bad *** and I would love to hear them. My concern is sounding like a Harley rolling down the street setting off car alarms and screaming "pull me over!"

I live in OC but graduated from USD in San Diego. I am down there a lot and will be happy to show you how LT's sound.

I had my C5 with Bullets and LG LTs. Loved it.

Now I have my C6Z with Kooks and a straight pipe system. If I am driving on the 5, you could probably hear me from wherever your house is

06 Z51, LG LT's, 3'' cats, cutouts, and 09 Z06 Mufflers.

Almost stock when cutouts are closed, a beast when open.

FYI, I dynoed open vs closed and got 1hp a 1lb of tq open, lol. The cutouts are for audible enjoyment only, I love the sound.

That is interesting! Are the cutouts after the cats and before the mufflers?

I'm in Fallbrook right off the 15 if you want to hear a loud one. LT's, no cats, Stingers, and a MS3 cam.

I'd be stunned and appreciative if anyone can find CARB legal shorties to fit my '88.
