Default Corvette Challenge Official Download: Event 7 @ BW

I got a PB today day: 2:09.45 on street tires (NT05 ... lots of sliding around), almost went off a couple of times. My brakes were grinding bad on the way home ...... Got a feeling one pad may be gone thats why couldn't stop in session 4, will see tomorrow!!

Great seeing all our brothers from up north.

Barely beat out Frank and Joe who is trying to get that 1st place trophy cup from me in Super Stock.

Thanks everyone for coming. Please don't forget to support our sponsors so we can do this again next year

LG Motorsports and Pfadt gave out $100 gift certificates to some of our drivers. Would those drivers please post up here so our sponsors know who you are!!!

Glad you had a good time. look forward to seeing you at the next event.

Tell Anthony at LG that your GC is from the Corvette Challenge .... he didn't have time to send me anything official looking.

Can't wait to see what this car can really do!

Oh yeah here's a video clip of my best lap:

Many thanks to all who helped organize the CC event...first time for me and had a blast. The weekend was a wake up call for me to address the fact I am directionally challenged. Not only did I end up on the wrong side of the parking lot from you guys, but I also found myself on the wrong side of the asphalt...aka in the gravel at "sunset".

Thanks to all for putting these together. Although I have lots of track time, this was my first time trial. Some bad choices on tires followed by a cracked rotor limited my performance (and shortened my day).
Do you generally post results by group somewhere? I'd like to know how my meager 2.06 held up within super stock.

Tell me about it. I ran a 2:01 on my 2nd lap still getting up to speed, the next 3 laps i hit traffic at the end of the laps screwing up my hot laps, by that point i was out of fuel and had to come in

still had a lot of fun though. Ran a 2:04 on the crappy R888s; great seeing everyone again

Yesterday was fun except for the heat

Thanks to Larkin and Rob for the delicious BBQ!

I was able to run a PB of 2:02.2 on session 2. Will edit/post my video in a couple days.

Howie, did you check your brake pads? It looked like there was plenty left before you went out for your last session.

Buttonwillow is the bumpiest track in SoCal, even worse than Tijuana!

Here's my video of Green 1 starting at the same point as Howie's.

I ran a PB of a 2:03 something a couple of laps into this footage.

In this one (from Green 2) I go out behind Howie to get some shots of his run.

In the second group the best I could do was a low 2:04.

Thanks, Howie. I enjoyed running together -- although I preferred to be in front.

Holy S***! I was having so much trouble with grip and was way off my normal pace. After finding the corded tire, I wasn't sure the RA1s would be worth repairing the rotor to run any more.
Did anyone pick up my trophy?

Howie! By C6 Ray's calculations your 2:09 beat my posted 2:09 by eight one thousand of a second. I also was saving my hot lap for the last session and when I checked the board and couldn't find any of my times I was very disappointed to say the least. I removed the timer from my car and took it back to the timers to have it checked and see what went wrong. They told me the timer had malfunctioned and was not recording my times for the whole session and there was no way to recover them. I asked what could have caused this and could it have been sabotage from someone who didn't want to have there 2:09 lap time bettered by an old man. Nobody had an answer for my lost lap times .
Other than the mysterious loss of my last session lap times my day was a complete sucess. My RPM Motors ( Corvette Challenge Sponsor) prepared C5-Z06 ran flawlessly, oil temp never went over 250 degrees and coolant temp never went over 210 on a very hot track day. And a big thanks to the lunch crew. The Corvette Challenge lunch spread would have made Wolfgang Puck proud.
