Default Transportation for Wounded Wariors Temecula Fundraiser Event

*** Please be sure to check back to the top of this thread as I will constantly provide updates here based upon the individual posts to this thread ***

I offered Stan my hand at whatever he needed to help make this a success besides me just donating a detail kit. He asked if I could step up and help coordinate transportation of vets to and from the event from various locations. I stated that I will gladly do my best. If one or two other people would be willing to assist me in this specific effort, that would be great. At this point the goal is to pick warriors up at a specific location and provide them a ride to and from the event. There could be a possibility of individuals meeting up with groups and caravanning together and that will be taken into consideration.

1) I need to see what forum members and or groups would be willing to provide transportation to and from the event or if they are aware of someone else that would be willing to provide some transportation. I believe that one of the forum members stated they have a van and a few others offered their Corvette. I can offer a ride for someone in my Corvette and use my four runner driven by my wife. However, we need to consider that there may be a need to make special accommodations for wheel chairs, etc. If you’re willing to provide a ride then please post here and tell me what type of vehicle you have, where you would be coming from, how far you are willing to drive roundtrip and if your vehicle can make any special accommodations. That would help me get the supply part of the puzzle as we can only provide rides for as many vets that forum members or other volunteers offer to transport. I need to get this list together ASAP and will post a running detail listing here.

Current List:
Bruce McCullough, 2006 vert Corvette & 2006 Four Runner, coming from Yorba Linda, willing to drive to da moon, four runner can hold equipment in the rear area.
Varmit, Poppy's Vette - Coming up from San Diego
Crazy Frank, Vette, Covina
BGC5vette, 2000 convertible
Rick, 1999 FRC
West Coast Corvettes, Anaheim, Anyone who wants to caravan can leave with this group, Royce at WCC contact

2) I am not aware of where we would possibly pick the vets up from or who we would need to contact to see which vets would like to attend. However, according to the Wounded Warriors WebSite FAQ- I needed to send an email to events@woundedwarriorproject.org to see if any warriors would like to attend. That’s already done and I will post the results of communications with the project staff. From a local standpoint can someone tell me where the vets could possibly be picked up at and any contact information for that location? Do we currently have any known wounded warriors who would like to come, where they are located and do they have any special transportation needs? I need to get a handle on the demand part of the equation ASAP and will post a running detail list here.

Current List:
Stan, Balboa Medical Center, awaiting feedback

3) If you're going as a group then please let us know and I will list it here for others to see and possibly join you.
Groups:
KODAK(Joe), two Corvettes and seats already taken- 76 Gas Station on Hidden Valley off the 15 just North of the 91
Wildmanht (Bill), corvette, transporting one warrior - 15 and 91 group

We only have a month to pull something together and may need to keep the numbers of warriors to be transported to a certain minimum and within reason. It’s a balance between supply and demand of the number of rides we can provide against the number of warriors who would like to attend. Let’s be patient and positive to help make this specific effort for the event as successful as possible. Please post here or PM me to let me know if I have missed anything or if you have any suggestions. My personal email can be used for any large attachments that may need to be sent. I look forward to working with you all to make sure that this is a success.

Regards,
Bruce McCullough

Im in. Me and my 08 Vert. I am in Rancho Cucamonga so the meeting place at the 15 and 91 is perfect for me. If there is a vet local to me, I would be happy to pick them up.

I originally offered to be part of this event, but unfortunately my plans have changed and I will be in London on the 11th. I will work with Joe to see if there is anything else that I can do.

I haven't heard anything from this end about getting the word to the wounded warrior coordinator. my idea was to pick up the soldiers at the base but this idea might go to a plan witch I don't have a clue yet. Hopefully we will hear from someone. A few earlier said they wee going to ask someone in the program.

According to Joe/Kodak in an above response to my post, I will go to the 76 station at the 15 and 91 unless something changes.

I had suggested to Stano that those who are coming from the Orange County and Long Beach/LA area should meet at West Coast Corvette and we all can head down to where we should pick up the Wounded Warriors. Since I am coming from HB, your place is perfect for me.

I'm not sure if I can help with clarification on meeting locations but until I hear from the Balboa Medical Center, I have no confirmation on any wounded warriors that need to be picked up. Of course I'm hoping that will change once I hear something.

Wish I had more to add...

I appreciate everyone getting behind this and helping out any way you can

Could someone please send me the details of this event. Is it just a fundraising situation, or an event actually taking place. There are numerous guys in San Diego who want to contribute, but we have no idea what is taking place. Could someone get info to me

thanks

Benny
