Default Andrew's update.

Hello all, how the heck are you?! This is Martin back from the underground! It has been a long time since I've posted here on the forum and since Andrew has been home for a year, I thought I would give you all a shout out.

Talk about life changing experiences, my life has really been altered. After 'Drew came home, I decided it was best for me to sell my business and my toys and remain with him 24/7. I have been by him since the early part of March caring for him and tending to his every need. He is still very much brain damaged, but he can now speak more when spoken to. He uses a standing machine about three times a week for an hour or so and can sit up for about 20 minutes on his own. He continues therapies butt they are slowing down because of his lack of "extreme" progress. There has been a nightmare of insurance BS but the fight goes on.

It was the day before Thanksgiving two years ago when he took his spill but he sat next to dad at TG dinner this year eating his pureed turkey (poor kid).

I think about you guys alot and miss you guys at the GTGs but soon Drew and I will stop by.

GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU...HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

martin

p.s. this was a hasty post but I'll be back soon.

Martin,,,so glad to hear about Your Son's progress!!!
I hope He continues to improve each day and You did a good thing by getting rid of all "unnecessary" things that don't really mean much in the long run!

Thanks for the update Martin. Like Benny, I often wonder how Andrew is doing.

It's been a long haul for both of you. I admire your unconditional love and dedication.

Good luck and God bless!

Martin, glad to hear there's been progress with Andrew. I can't imagine what you're going thru with your son, only that I wish you the strength to endure and my prayers to give you that needed lift.

May God be with you, your son and family.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I don't know what happened, and I'm not asking, I don't even know you or your son, but that doesn't matter.

The material stuff is just that, material stuff, you prioritized. Even though the turkey dinner was pureed, it was a turkey dinner. It sounds like you, your son and your family have a lot to be thankful for. Not just on Thanksgiving Day, but every day.

Happy Holidays to a very deserving Father & Son.

Martin, great to hear the news about Drew's continued progress. I know you didn't post here looking for praise, but I second RJ's sentiment … you are one heck of a devoted dad. Good luck and God bless to you and your family.

It sure puts life into perspective. I wasn't enjoying anything. Now I'm happy at home or taking Drew out to the mall, park or stuff like that. Thanks again for all your kind words.
