Default About that Million Dollar Race

I just spoke with the gentleman putting the race together. It's based loosely on the Cannonball run in that it's limited to amateur drivers only driving any kind of car and only after answering questions for a screening process. If you win you have to pass a lie detector test afterwards.

The Million Dollar race won't be run until Feb. of next year because of low initial registration (80 so far) That's the big race.

For this year Dec. 14th & 15th he is putting together a pre-race so-to-speak called the Forza. Entry fee is $1500 bucks and if you win 1st or 2nd place you get $1500 + trophy and $1000 + trophy respectfully. You also get a free entry into the Million Dollar Race to be held in Feb. of 2010.

All races are at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, Ca. and spectators are allowed. I've got to watch these for sure.

The entry fee into the Million Dollar Race is (are you sitting down) $15,000

I'll have an updated link on Friday for those interested

Nice research Stano, I won't be driving, but anyone wants to sponsor someone here to take on Richie Rich I would be interested in throwing my 2 cents in the pot.

Stano - let us know the Feb date when available. I may have to go and watch that one. Should be some exciting racing.

I sure will John! Should be exciting. By the way, the car dealership that's a sponsor will provide a car, any car......for a price

Then when you win the whole thing you can keep 50% and the 15 backers will split the other 50%

My $100 is first if you accept

I'm in as well, seriously, but you better act fast for the Forza race. I called Willow Springs and the track IS reserved Mark, you aren't a professional right?

How many other people would be interested in this?

UPDATE: The Forza Race is Dec. 14th & 15th 2009 at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, Calif. Anyone interested in contributing to Magstar's ( Mark ) entry, please respond to this post or PM me and I'll put you on the list. I'll work out the details of collecting the money later. All donations will be refunded if the race is called off for any reason or if Mark chickens out LOL!

Link:http://www.themilliondollarrace.com/

I'll start the list here:

1. Howie $100
2. Stano $100
3. Cloaked $100

Says any car with any modification. So people are gonna show up with some outrageous hardware.

And something as 'simple' as a Formula Mazda or Radical will beat Mark

Good point but I've see Mark out run Radicals so he'll have a shot but the Formula Mazda he'll have his hands full. Give me back my 100.00

I will give it my best shot if we can find a good car ..... My car is fast for a street car .... But not close to a Radical .... hate to bring a Knife to a gun fight .... Stano has some feelers out for a car Now
