Default Hey Blockheads!

Sounds like you guys had fun! I wanted to go, but I also wanted to ride today too while the weather is nice. Went on a ride, about a hundred Harleys rode out to the Rock Store. Saw some nice Vettes up there too, a few Z06s, a Ron Fellows Z with white wheels and white taillights. Anyone from the forum? Here's a few pics:

My 97 Harley Bad Boy Edition Springer:

Meeting at Calif HD before the ride:

Jay Leno was there as usual:

I thought about making that same ride today, alone, on my '06 Street Glide, unaware that Calif. H.D. had planned a ride there. I thought I would spend a few minutes cleaning up the front & back patio's, rinse off the outdoor furniture, and before I knew it, it was noon.

Maybe next Sunday, hopefully I can get the Harley out of the garage while she's still sleeping, roll it down the street, fire it up and take off! Might be wise to leave a note "Have fun Xmas shopping!"

It was a good ride. Perfect weather. I normally don't like to ride in a pack that big but all was good. I solo'd it home. Much better!

Great pictures Brian. I restored a HRD (Vincent Black Shardow) for a friend a few years back. I had it in a show at El Camino College, and Jay came over and talked about his Shadow. He has the same model I had restored. He used the same guy for his restore that I used for tech support. THe guy died, and Jay showed up for his memorial, and gave a nice tribute to the him. Both times I talked to him showed him to be a great guy.

Great collection! The second one is the HRD Black Shadow. I believe in 1950 the HRD name was dropped and it became just Vincent. They didn't want it confused with the Harley name. Where are these located? Love to see them in person.

That's cool Pat. I figured you'd be into bikes too. I probably saw your Vincent. I go to that vintage show every year.

I did a bike for Jay also. He was so appreciative of it he invited me to his garage and he grilled burgers and gave me the personal tour of his collection. Since then I've been able to go there several times. I also did a little work on his Eco-Jet and one of his Doble steam cars.

On his bike, I shaped the tank and then mixed up a special blue pearl paint for his 502 Boss Hoss. He had the bike on the TV show and Tom Cruise rode it too. Here's the bike (with me) right after I painted it.

Brian, very cool. You are talented. I have a 58 Ariel Square 4, a 74 Norton Commando, and a 78 Triumph Bonnieville

These are located in SoCal. They're a friend of mines. Pic #3 is 2 more Black Shadows.

I believe it is one of three custom built 1918 Indian replica's
Powered by a 36 volt electric motor for dependability and less noise

Lets see, I no NOTHING about British bikes, but thats an AMAL carb, smaller twin cylinder, single plug ,left side brake/right side shifter. Something about that intake.....and dual upswept exhaust....
I'm thinking early 50's, possibly Triumph, but i'm probably way off.

Best guess it's a early 60's Triumph T 100 Tiger unit construction equipped with a single Amal Carb. It also has a, I believe a 4H Lucas horn.

Best I can do on this one. American made twin of the 20's? American bikes had the side car on the right side. British on the left.

You are correct, it's an AMAL "monobloc" carb. This was the hint to which I was referring.
The "dual, upswept exhaust" is what collectors salivate for. It is the defining thing that makes this bike so special. (That, and it's condition.)
Here's another hint: This bike is a "pre-unit" construction.
It is a Triumph, but which one?

You're very close. It was built in 1958. It is "pre-unit" construction. It is 650cc. It is a Triumph. Ok, which model is it? (No cheating now!)
