Oli: This was your inspiration .... hope it was all you expected and for getting CalClub to join in.

Aaron thanks for letting us partner with Speed Ventures.

Tom and Dreamin you were great members of the committee, I think we did a pretty good job and look forward to working with you guys and Oli in 2010 !!!

Please patronize our sponsors

A big thanks to Oli for spearheading the Corvette Challenge and to the members that helped make it a reality and brought all the sponsors on board!

It's been a blast and it's been great meeting and making new friends

To the corvette drivers that participated because after all, without drivers it couldn't happen, I hope I can speak for others when I say thank you for your support by showing up and driving

Thanks to Howie for being a "post whore" and staying on everyone's butt to show up

Thanks to "Dreamin" for all of his help now and in the future

Finally a suggestion for next year, "Magstar" should be required to run with a rev limiter

Awesome driving Mark and thanks for the tips

Thanks to all the organizers, Oli, Dreamin', Tom and Howie! And anyone else I forgot. Great inaugural season. Let's make next year even bigger and better.

The more events at WSIR, the better. That's a Corvette track.

Where are those pictures of me with the trophy girl?

What no videos yet, I keep logging on to see the video, I'm going to post mine but I was waiting for the fast guys. I registered late Saturday morning and ran with the "blue" because that was the sure way of making the first session. The "blue" should have been called the "white" run group. I ran with "blue" twice before moving to "purple" I got some clean laps but no one to run with so 1:58 was all I could get primarily due to me not going over 107mph on the banked curve. I needed a another vette leading the way. On a positive note I did reach 153 mph on the HUD on the straight. Rich run a session in the "black" so I can follow you I not going to "red" without being in a race car.

Chriss and I got a buch of video from 6 different camera angles, and will have a short edited video of all the camera work in a few weeks.

I should have a short preview from my in car wide angle HD vid in a few days. I don't know my times on the second session yet, but i ran a PB of 1:54 in the first session in my bolt on C6 & all stock suspension.

The trophy girl asked if we could delete (permanently) the ones with you.

Of course we complied with heartfelt understanding

Congrats on such a great time. I got my personal best of 1:56.04 on friday. So looks like if you won't come up to RED, I will have to come down to BLACK on next few events so I can see if I can duel it out with you ..... you brought the best out of me last time we did that

I will bet some video up sometime this week. For some reason the last session did not come out. It had me passing another black C6Z up high on the Roval. I thought it was you

A big to all who made this series happen. I had never used a timing device on track day before this series. I used the excuse that it could possibly cause me to try and drive faster than my actual skill level . I now know after driving with a timing device during this six series event that my reasoning was flawed. The timing device just added another facet to the track driving experience and a good one at that. I highly recommend anyone sitting on the fence to come join the group next year. I guarantee you will enjoy driving your Corvette on the track in a highly safe environment. Even at my advanced age of (68) I can't think of a better way to enjoy my Corvette. Yes a trophy for a sparkling wax job would be nice but for me the trophy I received for driving in the Corvette track series made me feel almost young again. And a special thanks to all the supporting sponsors .

Default Corvette Challenge Video

Alright Howie, you want video, how about this one to start it off.

This was not the the best way to start the day although it all turned out ok. This broke my front fender hitting a cone and tore out all of the under fender and brake ducting. It was a classic driver error of early apex and hang onto the turn too long.

I took it in the pits, used about a half roll of duct tape and put it back together and went back out in the next session and ran my personal best time to win my class and finish off the season championship.

Thanks to Oli, dreamin and Howie for their team work an outstanding contributions to this event, I really enjoyed working with you guys on this series. I look forward to next year also for even more fun.

Especially thanks to all the great Corvette owners that came out and ran with us. What a great group of guys, we spent some quality time doing what we all love and having a lot of fun doing it together.

Also thanks to our sponsors for helping us fund this and indulge ourselves for a very resonable cost. I have never had so much fun for so little money before.

More video to come and no more spins, this is the last one for this event.

Enjoy the video and don't do as I did.

I took my car out the first session to shake it down and make sure it was in shape to turn over to my drivers that day.

I did the same thing on the second lap after I warme the tires. I came around that turn and clipped the tall cone at the apex and got a good drift coming out onto the banking. I think that cone was out a foot or so further than usual. It caught me off guard.

You almost caught that spin.

Default Second Session

Guys, here is the second session when I ran my fastest lap. I really can spell better but I did this in the dark last night while my wife was sleeping so I apologize for the title of the video.
It is a long video, I downloaded the whole session but it was a fun one dicing it up with Greg, a couple of Porches and Larry.

Default First timer at ACS

I had a great time on Saturday. It was nice meeting all of you. The carne asada was perfect. Oh yeah, I had a great time on the track as well. I'll see you at the track next time.

Thanks for the shirt Howie.

Does anyone know the link to the pro photographer at the track?
