Default F.S. LS7 Clutch

I have an LS7 Clutch and Flywheel for sale. Has less than 5 miles on it. Had Charlie at RPM install it and went a different direction. Like new condition. Prefer local sale. Will ship though. Looking for $400 obo. Email auehara@gmail.com.

Default whatever it's worth...

I did the the "LS7 clutch setup" on my '02 Z06 (which included the following):

LS6 - master cylinder, slave cylinder (i.e. throw-out bearing)

LS7 - flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch plate, pressure-plate

Same setup *should* work just fine with your car too. Good bite, without making the left leg larger. Excellent compromise for price-over-performance.

I had other problems though... after the clutch swap, it didn't resolve some issues regarding "full" clutch-disengagement. I'm planning on replacing the diff with an extreme-duty unit, and changing gears in the process (I'm running a monster of a cam), and while I have it torn apart, I'm going to investigate the real source of the 'hung clutch' issue. I thought it was the old/stock LS6 clutch, but after the upgrade it's still not fully-disengaging. I have a MGW shifter, which I know contributes to the "stiff" feel, but that ain't the problem. Upon a cold 30-second startup, pump the clutch 5-6 times, and attempting a 1st gear insertion, I feel the car 'inch' forward while pedal is fully-engaged. Something else ain't right.

But overall though, the LS7 clutch components in a C5 application seem to work great!

Thanks. I went to a 3.90 rear end with my 6 spd (3.42 was stock), and it transformed the car. Unbelievable low end torque. Got it from Dynotech Engineering and no problems in 2 years. I didn't go with the xtreme duty as I'm not that heavily modded and I don't drive the bejesus out of it.

Hmm... interesting. I was kickin' around 3:90's or a more mild step to 3:73's. Hadn't really decided yet, but your testimonial with 3:90's has me reconsidering an emphasis on those gears more now. Thanks.

You won't be disappointed. I did a before and after 10-60mph test, and it dropped by .9sec. Almost a full second. That's huge.
RPM at 70mph went from 1500 to 1750. No big deal. It also helped the skip shift nuisance. Around town now I go from 1st to 3rd and don't even bother with 2nd. But if I want to shake and bake, it's there.

i have found if you but a .115" shim behind the slave cylinder is will fix the disengagment issues, i have done this with many ls7 clutches with great success

I'm including the flywheel with the clutch, so it's the complete kit for $400 dollars.
