Mechanic near VTA?

Hey guys,

A friend of mine needs some pretty serious work done on her car, of which I'm not able to do. Does anyone have recommendations for a good, fair mechanic to do some work? She's having brake and spindle (I think bearings are going) problems on her Sunfire.

I know some people up in WA that worked on several cars, but I've always done my own work on the Vette since I've been here, and my DD's have been under warranty.

She mentioned about bringing the car to the dealership, but I'm afraid to let her as they usually tend to overcharge and under-perform. I'm here in Ventura/Oxnard area for locale.

Any recommendations?
