Lone Pine '09: AKA, 5th Annual Eastern Sierra Cruise
We're at capacity in a few of the parking lots we stop at so we're full. Sorry if you didn't make it this year.
The 2006 Cruise Crew
With over 40 cars joining us for the cruise we're calling this cruise full. This is mainly due to parking issues at some of the stops we make.
Also, with this many cars we're going to have two groups this year to help avoid parking issues.
Who: A bunch of Corvette enthusiasts and friends, we've even got room for a few non-Vettes.
What: Cruising the Eastern Sierras (more of a parade than a spirited run)
When: May 29th, 30th, and 31st
Where: Lone Pine, Ca.
Price of admission: There ain't one! This is basically a fun run.
What to bring with you:
Warm and wet weather clothing (just in case)
A folding chair
A FRS radio set to channel 7-1
Caravan Info
From Orange County
Leave Huntington Beach - 6:00 AM
Breakfast at the Cocos at 405 and 118 to hook up with the GOCC - 7:00 AM
Stop for gas in Mojave
Coffee in Ridgecrest and hook up with the Ridgecrest Crew - 11:00 AM
That puts us into Lone Pine at about 1:00 PM
Activities:
May 29th Friday - We'll meet at Diaz Lake at approximately 3:00 PM for a cruise up to Mt. Whitney Portal for a late lunch. Parking at the Portal is usually pretty limited so please park in the lower lot and be ready to hoof it up to the Portal store.

Later Friday evening at the Best Western there will be a happier than usual hour around 7:00 PM. You're on your own for munchies and sodas, or the beverages of your choice if you want to join us. This is an informal meet and greet and will double as a driver's meeting to discuss last minute changes/annoucements (if there are any).

May 30th Saturday
There will be a Machine Silver Run Group, and a Millennium Yellow Run Group. There was also some discussion about another group breaking out after lunch at the Deli. Stay tuned for an announcement at the Deli stop on Saturday on those details.
Pizza Plans
Once again we're organizing the Number 6 dance and Pizza Party around 7:00 PM at the Best Western. Everyone should be prepared to kick in at least $7 to $8 a head for pizza and salad but you'll be left to your own devices for liquid refreshments. Also be prepared to help with the cleanup, everyone did a great job in 2007. We'll also have an inpromptu Show and Shine again this year, somewhere, so be prepared to shine 'em up and be judged! You'll also be able to vote for the car with the least number of bugs. Around 9:00 PM we'll take a few minutes to police up our trash and present the award for the car with the fewest bugs.
Pizza Requests

Veggie - X
Pepperoni Black Olive's and Onions - XXXX

May 31st Sunday - We'll meet at Diaz Lake at 9:00 AM and depart at 9:30 AM for a cruise to Horseshoe Meadows via the Alabama Hills. After a brief stop over at the Meadows we'll head back over to Mt. Whitney Portal to wrap up Lone Pine '09.

In the past we've also participated with Kelly and Stan Barber's Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society's signature activity, with poker hands at each stop. They've once again offered to do some wheeling and dealing during the cruise to make our stops fun. This is a great cause to support a terrible disease we've all likely been impacted by.
So grab your folding chairs, bring some warm clothes and an umbrella or two, just in case, and let's kick off the summer with Lone Pine '09.

I'm not sure who's not going to be leaving from Semi Valley yet, but it's likely to be a whole bunch of folks. I'm sure they'd love to have you not join them. (just wait till BPappy joins this conversation)
