I am thinking of going to Lone Pine that same weekend. Are you guys familiar with this opportunity?
May 30th - 31st
Lone Pine Time Trials
his is an SCCA sanctioned Time Trial event held at Lone Pine, Calif. While the format is similar to an autocross, speeds are significantly higher.
This will be the 39th annual running of Lone Pine, where the proceeds go to support the Braille Institute Youth Center.
Entry form will be available soon.
Video of a 2 1/2 minute run at Lone Pine here:

I hear it is a timed run of about 2.5 miles and you can drive as fast as you want or as fast as you feel comfortable going. I hear it is open to the public, of course there is a registration, and all funds go to the Braille Institute.
I have never been to this before and my info may be a little sketchy. Does anyone know more about it. Is that why you are going?

Frenchican - just start sending money.
Oli, that is a great event, I ran it years ago in a Mazda RX-4 (that's how long that event has been going on). Should be a lot of fun. The cars are grouped by class and mods. It is one of the faster time trial / autocross circuits, set up at the old air strip. Couple of timed runs, each day. Things may have changed some. We're just going up to enjoy the beautiful scenery and do some highway and mountain driving. Lone Pine isn't that big of a town, I'm sure we'll see you.

I've heard Ricky and Ronnie's has closed up. Bummer. We all had some good times there.

Dennis, Kelly, glad to have you back. It'll be a blast.
Bummer. We'll miss the founding father. Maybe Bruce and Tommy can zip down and zip back up with you guys. It's rumored they know where all the speed traps are.

Lone Pine
Oli, they put on a great event. It's held at the old Manzanar Airstrip just north of Lone Pine. I ran my 3000gt in that event years ago and it was a blast! The surface of the airstrip isn't too bad either. We still own the Pizza Factory there in Lone Pine. If you go let me know, I'll buy you a pizza and beer for the ride along at Willow Springs

Hey, a special welcome to two newbies, Rodger and Deanna.
Rod's 04 has recruited them to join us, although I don't think he told them for sure what might be in store for them . . .
Welcome aboard Cyberr.
