yeah "but officer I was merely dialing my phone to make a call using my blue tooth" is still legal...why cant we just have some legislatures with brains? make it harder to get a drivers license and require people to actually know how to drive...problems solved!

Yeah, I don't get that... is that really legal? We can't "dial" letters, but we can dial numbers? And in that case, why does the bluetooth in my radio lock out the keypad when the car is moving? Not that I'd ever install a bypass for that

I don't know for sure but I don't think it is legal. Any phone new enough to have Bluetooth capability would also have voice-activated dialing - I think you'd be expected to use it.
