Miramar Air Show Oct 3-5th

Just thought I'd mention this here. I went last year and it was a great show. Large tarmac with lots of planes to check out. You can walk in some of the large cargo planes and choppers. The air show is amazing too with everything from old and new military planes, old by-planes, RC planes, firebombing runs, ShockWave the jet truck, and this year the Blue Angeles. Last year it was the Thunderbirds and they were incredible. I can't wait to see what the Blue Angeles can do.

Anyway, it's a great event to go with friends or with the family.

I'll be there on Friday. Saw the Thunderbirds in Reno two weeks ago (here's a link to some pics: http://jch.smugmug.com/gallery/60271...77199485_8NxLs).

There will also be an F22 Raptor at Miramar which put on a heckuva show in Reno.

I went three years ago. It was a pretty good show.

It took us 3 1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot when it was over.... no joke.

If you go, stop by the Air Force Viper West Demonstration team and say HI to my son. He is the crew chief on that plane.

I guess I'll see you all here. I'm working it all weekend long, starting Thursday Night. We are already planning for next year's air show.

Nightmares of VMA-513 will be doing the AV-8B demo and stealing the show from the Blues. Good friends of mine "Critter" and "Warren" will be splitting the demos. Tomorrow 30 Sept they will be doing the over the field practices here in Yuma in prep for the show.
Squadron should have a booth set up to buy t-shirts and stuff. Better to buy direct and support the unit. Tell them "Postal" sent you. May get mixed looks. I use to be the XO.

I miss the Miramar show every year because of a medical convention in Vegas. The Reno Air Races too. That is the one air show that I have never seen and heard it is fabulous.
