Was that Howie that got bit by the Maroon Momba!!!
Yes it was.
BUT in all fairness to me it was the first session. And one of the first few laps. AND my first time facing the ROVAL. I was on the inside which is NOT where you want to be at speed going in to that banked turn. I will post some vid soon showing me taking the correct line.
Joel's car is as fast as a Z. We were side by side till I let off. As Joel will admit......He couldn't catch me in in the 3rd and 4th sessions.
EDIT: Joel, if you look closely at that second (the one at the end ... didn't know I was in there twice) run down the straight, you will see I start to pull you slightly before I let off and you pass by !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, You did great for your first time out Howie!!
This was my second time out in the 08, I've been on the track twice before in the 98.
I did take a good look at the vid again, and the moment you speak of you pulling for an instant there, is when I shift from 4th to 5th. I then start to close before you lift... also, this pass was made on one of the last laps of that first session...
Like I've said for a long time, My ls3 is in the ballpark HP range of a stock Z no more, no less.
I do believe you and I would have been running very close times on the 3d and 4th sessions!!!
One more thing to keep in mind Howie, I could have been in the 98

I would agree with howie, the first couple of laps you really need to get a feel for the track. The video below is the 3rd time (first of the day) on the roval for me and about the 10th lap in total. So what were you times. Mine was 1:57.7 first sessoin of the day and best was 1:57.3 with some traffic. Sorry no zo6 kills this time.

That was a really good video, I wish you had posted it sooner like before I went to the track, I didn't think you could drive that low on the bank and make a good time I was so wrong, I ran a 2:08 my first time out with the instructor giving me the do/s and don't/s. I only ran a few laps in my third session ran low on fuel. My best time was a 2:01 and that was with a full fuel tank. I would have liked to have dipped into the 1min range but no matter how I tried I felt uncomfortable entering the banking I'm not a fan of rollor coasters.

As our cars have almost identical power. You could only pass me if I lifted. Next time honk when you shift to 5th and I will too.
But you better bring your 98 if you ever have plans on passing me again
