There was a similar event at Bates Nut Farm a few years ago....200 vettes...died after that...but that is a very good venue...20 acres for car events on grass...

The Nut Farm?? Perfect!

Seriously, it could be done but we would have to form an organizing committee first.

It's not as simple as pot luck, many logistical problems to tackle. My heads hurting just thinking about it.

That is ALREADY getting too complicated.

It could be like a picnic thing, bring your car, a smile, and whatever you want to eat or drink.

Location/parking is first hurdle...most public parks do not have enough space..

Bates farm sounds like it's been a successful spot.

I think it is a good idea, but it needs to be centrally located, plenty of safe parking and people to coordinate and make arrangements.

I'm in!!!

I nominate Benny`s house, he`s got plenty of room!
We can all bring our guns and shoot rattlesnakes in the pool!

Then for dessert:

and finally:

El Dorado Park in Long Beach. Lots of park spaces, I don't think they would allow parking on the grass but there's lots of winding roads????

Prado Park in Chino allows parking on grass, there is a park entry fee though and the cheaper and easier we make this meet the better.

You can park over 100 vettes here...on the grass...and you don't have to haul Bar-B-Ques,coolers...
Owner has huge outside Bar-B-Que.....casino just up the hwy, also, mountain roads only 4 miles away......etc..

Near Temecula....

Ski Beach, Mariners Point, or Hospitality Point in Mission Bay-San Diego would be a good place to have a GTG/BBQ like this. Great scenery & tons of parking area!

I just added two more pics....

This place caters to large groups....Bar-B-Que lunch starts at $13/person.....free parking...

For another picnic idea ....Mount Palomar Winery just out of Temecula has a huge picnic area, plenty of parking and I think there is no charge..need to reserve, and you get 10% off wine if you picnic there....we had a big Corvette group there a few years ago..60 vettes and we only used less than half the parking lot....
Link:http://www.mountpalomar.com/mtpalomar/index.jsp

Just some ideas regarding areas that are central between LA/SD....

Hemet Lake may be another thought...

You know me Benny...Food,Booze,etc...
