I have a friend in Hawaii I used to race with and he painted his S2000 flat black. It does take *****, but it looks mean and no nonsense. Flat black wheels too. He spared no expense on the car. He is also considering buying a new Z06.

I have seen it on a C5 and a C6. Looks better on a C6 to me, but that's just a personal preference. It kind of gives it a Mad Max look.

Default Wow

That's different,for sure!

I will have to reserve my opinion until I see it in person, but I think it's great you have a vision and just go for it.

Does flat black hold up well over time???

no, they do make flat and matte clear coats. . .but they dont at one day paint. . .plus it makes it a little glossier and i didnt want that look. the way i see it is, i will accept a few flaws and what not for a $600 paint job. i definitely got my moneys worth and im happy with it.

I was at the L.A. Auto show and I saw several cars done in flat black.
When I took this, I was thinking about this thread. It looks very cool in person.
