New Vette owner and to forum
I'm new to the forum and just purchased a new to me 1999 C5 Vert. today!! Love the car.
One question I have is having trouble getting into first gear at times. When i come to a stop a put the car into 1st gear at least i think I did and I start to take off and the gears grind. i wait untill RPM's fall the Nudge the shifter a little more and it is fine. this happend sporadically. Is this my error or the car?
Also would like to know if there are any local clubs in the Inland Empire? I would like to listen to others vettes with modified exhaust so I can make a sound judgement when purchasing a set for my car.
Who do you guys recomend to service my Vette? Who do you trust your Vette with?

Sold my 2005 30' Cigarette boat. because that ride began to get too expensive, so now I own a 1999 Vette. I just hope this ride is not the same financially!!
Thanks for the congrats and hellos!! Glad to see I'm not the only one with this 1st gear problem. But it shouldn't happen how embarassing to grind gears at a stop light or want to take off fast and you are left at the light waiting for your RPM'S to drop low enough to retry again!! I'll try calling The Corvette shop in Irvine as mentioned in an earlier post and see if they have a fix to the problem. hoping its just a clutch adjustment!!
As for the meet on Sunday, were is it at and what time? If I come down with the flu and call in sick I just might go!! Sounds like fun!

It's at the Block at Orange in the Krispy Kreme parking lot, usually 50-60 Vettes show. Here is a link to this months meet.

Welcome to the money pit and congrats on your new purchase. About the gear thing, well theres alot of us here with that minor issue, me, I just make sure its all the way in first gear before taking off, what happens is you go to put it in first gear thinking its all the way in, but its not, then when you take off it grinds. Just make sure it in before leaving. Works for me.
