Default Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge

This is the best place for Corvette service. I just had my painted roof replaced today on my 2006 C6. Last Monday I brought it in to have the initial "feeler gage check" and was told that I will get a new top. They keep several new tops at the parts department so no need to wait days or weeks for a top to arrive. It was painted and ready for installation today, Friday. The paint job was excellant, no blemishes, etc. For those of you that know about Guldstrand Motorsport in Burbank, Rydell Chevrolet is the place Dick Guldstrand recommends to have your Corvette serviced. When you go in to Rydell, ask for Donny Yorke, he is the Shop Forman. This is my second vist to Rydell. The first time was several weeks ago to have my rear differential flushed and refilled to fix the chatter problem. Work was completed on time. The car came out of service department both times in the same condition it went in. No scratches, cuts, etc. Gabe Gordon was the Service Consultant who wrote up the order.

Is that special service???

Shouldn't we always expect a no-hassle experience where they do the job requested correctly on the first try and in a timely manner???

Glad to hear another satisfied customer. They are Corvette people there and try to do the job right the first time. You seem to know the right people at the right places also. Good luck and enjoy your Corvette.

...and for those of you in the OC or south LA area, go to George Chevrolet in Bellflower (91 fwy and Lakewood).

Ask for Chris, he's the service manager and the man to talk to! He will take excellent care of your Vette!

Tell him Julie sent you

I did not have a fruitful experience there regarding roof replacement or repair.

I took my car there to Northridge Rydell 6 weeks ago to find out what was needed

to repair my warranty issue with my ZO6 roof. I went to Santa Monica first

but they hadn't repaired or replaced any.
"
I went to Valencia and they said no problem repairing "done many" were their words,

so I went to Rydell and talked to the service writer in the first booth and he looked

up my vin # and said oh we can't just repair it . We have to replace the roof ,and

that they had done it on others, but there was one stipulation, If the paint doesn't

match we ain't gonna re paint it. I said the car is black and has polish on it so

no fade concerns, and he says we only paint it once..........Sheeeeeeeeesh,

I thought you had a great body shop from what I heard, and he said another corvette

owner had them repainting the top too many times so, no more, welll I went back to

Valencia Chevrolet and told them that even though putting glue/ foam in the

existing roof was great since it is less intrusive, that Rydell in Northridge said

it had to be replaced. And Valencia said No not necessary or required even after putting my

vin# in .

.Well it was a 2 hour job and that was that !! Factory Roof Fixed on the Worlds Most Powerful Stock Corvette

Less intrusive work is always better

What was wrong with a Z06 roof? I've only heard of coupes having problems. As far as Rydell of Northridge, I took my car there to have a latch tightened on the roof. They couldn't do it and had to order a part. When the part came in, they installed the part. As I picked the car up, I noticed a small scratch in the underside of the glass top(about 1/2"). I took it back to my service advisor who showed his manager, end result was they ordered me a brand new glass top. I have been to Rydell of Northridge too many times and they have always done me right. Sorry some others haven't had the same experience!!

Unfortunately it is like recommending a restaurant, you may have a great experience, next person may not; due to different circumstances, expectations, or help. It happens. I've had very good service at Rydell Northridge. No, Ethyl and I are not related.

TicketBait, nxt time talk to Brian, he will take care of you. Ive gotten some lousy service from other guys there, some to the point of almost slapping them silly but Brian is first class, he gets things taken care of the way they should be.

I've been to Rydell's several times and never had anything other than a great experience with their crew.

Most all 2006 Zo6's were included in the recall notice for "Body Color Roof Adhesive Seperation" . In the C6 ZO6 section there has been gobs of discussion on this since last year.

Even though there wasn't any sign of seperation, I had recieved
5 notices from GM, so thought I better take care of it.

If there is seperation they will replace roof , if no seperation present at time of inspection they will repair.

I had my C4 painted at Rydell's in Van Nuys. They did a superb job and the paint is still looking great 18 months later. In my experience, Jim Bainbridge (the body shop manager), and his crew work hard to please the customer.

In regards to Tri-tips comment below... I wish this were true and that we could expect this kind of service as standard, but unfortunately, this has not been my experience. Great mechanics and body work specialists that stand behind their work seem to be increasingly rare.

I bought my C5 at Rydell as well. They were very helpful.

I just wish I worked closer to them for servicing! I always drop mine off somewhere closer to where I work in Glendale and it has been a nightmare on several occasions.

I completely understand how some of them get nicknamed "Stealerships".

*SIGH*
