Join us for the fabulous Big Bear Bash July 21-23 way up high in the beautiful Big Bear Valley.
This year our theme is Rhinestone Round-Up, so bring your finest duds and mosey on up to the mountains for lots of fun. There will be golfing, volleyball, car show, rally, cruise around the lake and lots of Corvette camaraderie.
Pre-registration deadline is fast approaching on June 15, so get in your registration right away. No day passes will be sold this year.
Had such a great time last year, my first, that I'm all signed up for this one...!! The Novice Autocross Class alone is worth the trip...not to mention the beautiful secenery around Big Bear...!! See You all there..!!
Due to weather problems, the airport will not be finished paving in time for the Big Bear Bash Autocross and Autocross school, so the events scheduled for the airport have been cancelled. We will be having a Funkhana on Saturday to test your abilities, so come join us for this fun event & don't forget to bring all your fancy duds for the Saturday night dinner.
Vintage Corvettes will be there. We are currently recruiting volleyball players. You only need to be signed up for the BBB to be eligible to play. Email or PM me if youre interested.

The Funkhana is all planned out. Be prepared to be challenged and to have FUN!!!! Sign up for the Funkhana when you register at the Grey Squirrel. There are also still spots available for the car show on Friday.
I am in big bear everyday there are no evacuations ordered its business as usual up there they might get thunder storms all weekend long and into next week and with the major fire fighting effort going on right now theres a good possiability this thing will be out soon. Dana
They have a Funkhana (not sure what it is) instead of autocross. Check out their website. We always have a great time. Theres lots of stuff to do even w/o autocross,or just do nothing and relax. It's great to get out of the heat in the valleys.
When they move it from june to july the worst part is rates go up for rooms/cabins.
Rumor has it the volleyball trophy is aleady engraved with the winning clubs name.

Funkhana..slow speed gimmick driving..throwing objects from vette into a bucket...backing into tight parking(between cones),etc...
"Funkanna," named after a lady (Anna Funk from southern California) who, it is said, once rode in her finest dress, straddling a British Racing Green MG's hood, holding a full glass of wine atop the radiator cap. She made three loops of the parking lot at a GoF and was never seen since....
Over 200 reservation cancelations at a local Big Bear resort this weekend...nip and tuck on fire..still...only 35% contained...next week will tell tale...
I have to admit....The MAIN reason why I signed up for this event WAS the Autocross.... Sure, the rest of the activities are "fun", but last years autocross is what stuck in my mind.... I'm still going (depending on the fire situation) ... Guess I'll just have to find an SCMR route to drive....Or else take a fishing pole....lol...
I'm in for a trip up to check things out......but I'll be "incognito". I'll be bringing the family up in the GTO....going up Saturday morning and spending the night.
For anyone who is going up on Saturday and wants to join a whole variety of cars cruising up there (mostly f-bodies and GTO's, but a few vettes also) check out the "RIM OF THE WORLD" cruise.....
