Irwindale California Speedway 5/13/2006

Pomona Valley Corvette Assn/CorvetteForum is the Guest Car Club at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday May 13th 2006. On this day we will be in the fenced off area just west of the grandstands. Everyone is welcome to come out and have some fun.

So who is interested? The guest Car Club enters the Speedway for FREE and will be directed to a private section to display only their cars. (Cars, Driver and Guest enter the track for FREE) During opening ceremonies the Club takes the cars on to the track for few parade laps then back to the private parking area. (Parade Laps are slow and controlled) For the rest of the night there is Beer, Food, Beer and racing. (For the Beer and Food you are on your own)
If you are interested please sign-up. I will need to give the track an estimated number by May 5th. Space is limited to about 30 cars so only sign-up if you are sure you will be able to attend. Bring your chairs to sit in before the event. No beer if you are driving in the parade lap and bring a cushion or blanket to sit on the bench seating as it is cold and hard.

You will need to be at the track at around 3:30pm racing is over around 10:00pm. They do allow you to leave anytime during the night. The Speedway is located right off the 605 freeway between the 10 and the 210 in Irwindale.

I'm going to have to pass on this one Chuck, but we (The Vette Set) have scheduled September 9 as our night at the track. I'm counting on you guys in PVCA and people here at the CF to help us fill in the required number of cars to hold the Chalet Village for us.

I had talked with Chuck earlier about our club's outing, and I just used this opportunity to insert a reminder to Chuck.

I wanted a Figure 8 night for our club too, but none were available by the time I talked with Julie at Irwindale Raceway.

Chuck, I'm not to familiar with going to the track. would we be spectators or will we be able to do laps? Race ? etc. etc.

We are spectators only. We get to park in a special spot next to the grandstands and show our cars. This is about the 5th time we have done this and it is always a good time.

Yes BUT they are very slow ones.

p.s. Chuck, was it you I saw at the 31 Flavors about two weeks ago? I have a VY 05 coupe.
