Default Silver C6 Z06 spotted in O.C.

I didn't think they were set to hit the streets for a couple more weeks but I saw one in Tustin Ranch (Driving North on Jamboree) with paper plates?

Deffinatley a Z06 due to the new polished wheels and hood/side wents.

The silver looked good and I wish I would have been making a turn in the same direction to give the new owner a thumbs up and wave.

The car looked great and I can't wait to see a couple more out on the streets.

Hard to tell as he was across a big intersection at Jamboree and Portola. Looked like the paper plate was blue?

Customer cars are on hold at the plant - probably was a pre-production evaluation model. Manufacturer plates (Michigan) are blue, fwiw.

I have seen quite a few GM cars with the Manufacturer plates while I worked as the Development Coordinator at Magnaflow Exhaust. The Silver Z06 I spotted deffinatley didn't have michigan plates.

Could be a dealer car? My buddy that is fleet manager at Selman Chevrolet said he was supposed to take delivery of his new Z06 early last week but I haven't had a chance to talk to him to verify?

No saleable Z's have left Bowling Green yet - NONE, not one, not even 1/2 of one. Some of the evaluation cars do not have Mich. or MFG plates. I have more than a passing interest

Intresting?

Maybe a magazine car?

If I see the car again I will chase down the driver and make him give me the scoop.

Sucks to hear about the QC issues with the frame.I was really looking forward to seeing these hit the streets soone than later.

That is not exactly true. The very first saleable Z06 was sent on the Corvette Heritage Tour. It is not a pre-production car, but "Saleable Car #1" (actually car number 40-something because the first 40 something were pre-production). The car is slated to be returned to the dealer that it was allocated to once the tour ends. Now I have to wonder if GM will step in and recall that one to the factory instead of letting the dealer take delivery.

No, it IS
exactly true. You have to get to VIN #0323 (last 4 digits)(approximate) before you get to a saleable Z06. All the rest go back to GM.

I think 323 is the first customer ordered car to come off --- 1-322 are Pilot models and get sold back to dealers as used cars after 6 months or so....

Its the cars with VIN's that end in EX that get sent back to GM for the crusher....

(
I believe that's true - they likely will go to the internal GM auction where dealers can bid on them once the evaluation period is over.

Hmm... Tustin Chevrolet paper tags are dark blue background with white lettering saying, TOTAL SATISFACTION. Thing is, my neighbor is the GM there and he sez it's not theirs (wishes it was).

Michigan "Manufacturer" plates are blue:

Brandin, are you sure it was a paper tag?

Looked like a paper tag to me?

I was on the far side of the intersection but I guarantee it didn't have Michigan plates.

It also had the polished wheels.....All of the ones I have seen photographed seem to have the standard color wheels.

Has anyone seen a pre production car with the polished wheels?

Not true anymore. Corvette Mike is advertising the first Z06 to be sold through dealership. Just received his e-mail today.
