Default San Diego Paint/Body

Does anyone have any good experiences with San Diego paint and body businesses? I may be looking into some light paint work soon. Stupid parking lot curbs...

Have you checked out the body shop at Courtesy Chevrolet? I spoke to the manager a few years ago and he seems to be very knowledgeable about C5s.

I had my Mustang completely repainted at Len's Autobody in Oceanside (off of hiway 76 about 3 miles east of 5) and they did a great job. It is a show car. However, most of what they do is collision repair and painting so I'm sure they could help you.

I'm told this is a great shop. Here is the name and address of the body shop in Escondido:

Ramon (RAY) Gonzalez

RCM Auto Body and Paint

1175 Industrial Ave.

Suite Y

Escondido, CA 92029

760-747-1628

Ray is really busy and the best way to contact him is drive over to his shop.

He is usually there painting or giving estimates. I believe you will be impressed with his ability and price. He is very passionate about his work.

Phil Thearles is a large first class type shop in baha Santee that works on lot of high end cars, Jags, Beamers,Mercs etc, etc. It will cost you more but they take good care of your can while they have it and when they do a repair the paint matches. I would be worth getting an estimate from them.
Last yeat they just moved into a larger shop at the end of 52 and Mission Gorge Road, good luck

Keep in mind that most body shops have little experience repairing SMC (fiberglass) cars. If you need any fiberglass repair, make sure you ask the shop how often (if ever) they've worked with a plastic car. I would even ask for the Corvette owner's name and number so that you can see their work.

I had my front plate cover repainted by Courtesy. It took them three tries to get the color right and the finish was not particularly smooth on the third try. I'll look into a few of the other shops though.

Pacific Nissan auto body. They have their own piece of property just for the body shop (the dealership is half a mile away). They paint a lot of expensive cars there. Last time I was there they had just finished a brand new beemer and a 350z. They did a great job on a C5 that belonged to a friend of mine and a mustang I used to own.
