Default Info/recommendations for Infineon ALMS Grand Prix July 15-17?

I know this is early, but I'm thinking of taking a nice vacation in July with some friends to the Napa area, and tie-in the American Le Mans Series race at Sonoma, and was looking for some advice from my west coast bretheren (if anyone is ever in the midwest/Chicago area, look us up in the Great Lakes section - we get together a lot for fun!).

Is there a CF group that attends?
What day(s) do you attend (assuming the Sunday final is the best)?
What is the best seating (I hear Turn 7 and Turn 9 are pretty good)?

Thanks!

You can't put a price on a good time!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

The Corvette Coral is at turn 2.

I personally like turn 7 and the grandstands.
I've sat also in turn 2 and 9 (Not bad ether)

I hope my car up and running by then…
I usually go on Sunday due to my work schedule

Default You must have a DSL line or better to view

Are you going to drag "Truck Guy" along with you?
You can go to this link http://www.raybarbour.com/spss/ALMS.htm for a 190 picture slide show from last year, just don't click on the link from a dial-up. Give it time to load. For other pictures go to the photo page at www.racebeat.com
As you can see from the slide show, turn 2 provides a great view of the track.

Something to consider ... http://www.wscc.ws/
The Western States Corvette Council is having the annual get together during and after the ALMS race. Scroll down to July and check out the links. Have a nice trip.

Thanks for the tips!

No, I don't think Russ is quite ready for the West Coast trip just yet. It'd be a great time with him though!

Thanks again.

I've set my plans for the weekend. Staying at the Napa Marriott so the wife and I can do a little wine tasting - and then be close enough to the track.

This will be my first time to a ALMS race. What do most people do? Just go on Sunday? Both Saturday and Sunday? Do most people just hang around the Corvette Corral? Do I just need to get general admission tickets for whatever days and then can I choose where I want to go/sit?

Thanks for all your help!

I go all three days, Friday is great for getting pictures of the teams in the pits. On Saturday more people show up and Sunday is the big day, but don't worry it never sells out. The NCM and IMSA should have a Corvette Corral setup.
