Liz and Judy will be defending their crowns on June 12 at the Knoxville Dragway for the 2nd Annual Corvette Challenge sponsored by the Tellico Village Vettes.
This 1/8 mile bracket racing event is fun for every one. Last year we had 16 Corvettes lining up to practice before the actual races began. It was great fun last year so mark your calendar now to either participate or drop by to watch.
Gates open at 2:30pm, Time trials start 4:00pm
Spectators: 12-under FREE, 13-up $10.00
I do not know when the actual challenge begins or the cost to race. More info to follow!
The Village Vettes are looking for a win this year. I know we are at a disadvantage still, because none of our wives have volunteered to race. We'll just have to dispense with the gallantry and take on the "best of the SMC".
Oh, there will be two trophies this year. Both will be more 'vette friendly, so you won't need a convertible to carry them home.
Had to get home to rest got up early to go to Nashville for work then took my son to Bowling Green. Got to see the SMC brick, it looks real good . I'll be there to cheer you and all the SMC on.
if it were heads up, I would make a serious effort to get my car back together and tuned by then. but bracket racing sucks....especially buy backs. ....I personally put "the winner" out in the first round last year.
SideStep, Knoxville dragway is an 1/8th mile track and you will not hook hard enough there to break an axle on dr's. I don't even hook really hard there on et streets.
maybe I should try to get the car together by then....feel like getting violated, Bob???
This sounds fun, I will probably drive down with my C3. So how much to race? Are you saying 16 vettes had the track to themselves last year? I'M THERE!
I will suck at a 1/8 mile track, however I spin it the 1/8 mile point will be right after my 2-3 shift. Still, to race with other vette's sounds fun.

No, we didn't have it to ourselves, but we did do a good bit of racing....plus meeting other vette owners is fun!

"the winner" exercised the buy back option because she just loves running. you should have done the same and had a little more fun that night.
