Default Georgia Plantation Cruise - May 1

Announcing Tuband's Plantation Cruise

This will be a one day cruise with an option to stay over Sat. night (highly recommended).

Covered Bridge at Watson Mill State Park

Entrance to Di-Lane Plantation

I should have some packets of information on the areas we're visiting but here are some interesting links to whet your appetite for this cruise.

UPDATED INFO - Please read
If you are planning to stay at the Steadman House, make your reservation now. They will not hold the rooms much longer after 4/15.

If you are planning to eat BBQ at the Di-Lane Plantation (final stop) I need a head count ASAP for the caterers. The cost will be $15.00 per couple and this needs to mailed to me so that I receive it no later than Saturday, April 24 (one week before the cruise). Send a check to:
George Jones
723 Wood Valley Road
Waynesboro, GA 30830
My email address is below. Please email me so that I can more quickly update the participant's list as well as send group emails with the final instructions, itinerary, etc.

The cruise will begin at approx. 9:00 am in Milledgeville, GA and continue north to Madison and points beyond. Following lunch in Madison the cruise will continue to the Watson Mill Covered Bridge, then east to the Augusta area, then south to Waynesboro where we will have a BBQ at Di-Lane Plantation. The route will follow a portion of the Antebellum Trail as well as other scenic roads through this area of Georgia. Several stops are planned along the way and, if all arrangements can be made, we will be able to visit a late 1700s mansion that was not burned by Sherman. Guys will enjoy the roads and the wives will love the scenery.

HOTEL INFO
Steadman House Bed & Breakfast
828 North Liberty Street
Waynesboro, GA 30830
877-853-9439
Highly recommended ... They are holding 4 rooms for Saturday night. Be sure to tell them that you’re with the Corvette group. The rate is $75.00 which is only a few $$ more than the other motels.
http://www.steadmanhouse.com/

Other motels .... both are close to each other and have similar rates/amenities.
Best Western Executive Inn
1224 North Liberty Street
Waynesboro, GA 30830
(706) 554-0806

Jameson Inn Waynesboro
1436 Liberty St
Waynesboro, GA 30830
(706) 437-0500

There is another motel in town but I cannot recommend it.

For those planning to arrive Friday night you might prefer the motels as we will need to depart for Milledgeville by 7 AM.

Brief Itinerary
FRI (anyone arriving early in W'boro) dinner at Camino Real @6:30; chill out at my house after dinner
SAT depart from W'boro @7 AM; departures from other regions TBA
9:00 depart from Milledgeville on cruise (we will meet in McDonald's parking lot located on Hwy 441N)
11:00 lunch at the Chop House in Madison (I need a head count ASAP)
4:30 ETA in W'boro .... check into hotels, then caravan to Di-Lane Plantation
5:00 barbecue at Di-Lane (cost is $15.00 per couple ... send to address above)
7:00 coffee/dessert/etc. @ my house til ????
SUN maybe breakfast together ???? Also, there is a large Corvette show in Madison for anyone interested

George

BOTH :jester

I'm planning on driving the Z (which should be sporting new paint and maybe a couple of mods by then) and either my wife or one of my local friends here will be driving the 94.

Hey, Poe .... make your plans to join us. I think you'll have a lot of fun. Plus we need to have a representative group from the Armada
