[SMC] Took the LONG way home...Gatlin, Foothills, Dragon, Cherohala

Got off work today and with the weather so good, I decided to do a dry run for the event on Sat, Oct 25 with the Confederate Corvette Clubs of Louisiana. I drove to Gatlinburg and started at Park Vista....headed to Foothills Parkway...to the Dragon...to Robbinsville...to Cherohala Skyway...thru Tellico and Sweetwater....I-75 - I-40 and home.

Tomorrow I will do the leg from home, to Westahaven, and back south on 129 to Foothills (where I overlap).

I set miles, times and scouted stopping points....I will compile the data and present to the SMC in a day or so.

It's 12 miles home, but took me 250 miles to get there!! :eek: :crazy: :D

Yea, almost bit off more than I could chew, but once I got started I couldn't quit! :lol:

And if I THOUGHT anyone wanted to leave at 4:00p and return at 10:00p and run 250 miles with me I would have POSTED it! :lolg:

I did! I stopped at Papa's Pizza in Robbinsville at 8:00p.....but looks like they roll the streets up in that town at 6:00p..... :crazy:

We had a great time when we came down two weekends ago...did 441? throught hte Smokies, then 28 to the gap, up and down the Dragon, on to robbinsville and the Cherahola, 360 to 72 to 129 and the dragon again, then 28 again and back across the Smokies....what a great day :D
