RatPacks and Friends on August 16, 2003 cruise west of Charlottesville NEW INFO CHANGE (3) Most of the events have been around the Williamsburg – Portsmouth areas. The next event is going to be west. (go west young man go west, and ladies). For those that are coming from the east of Charlottesville. Take I 64 west to exit 118 (29 north Washington / Culpeper). @ 4 mile exit off at the 4th exit (29 north Washington), stay in the right lane @ 1 mile passing the 3rd traffic light. Make the second right turn into the shopping center at this point you can see Chili’s on the right. (1)- 12 PM lunch at the Chili’s Southwest Grill and Bar on 100 Zan Rd. 434-975-0800 Manager stated a discount and maybe roped off parking. OK I met with the manager today. they are giving us a roped off parking area. 9 in the front row, 12 in the second row. 4 booth, 8 tables that sits 4 people each that face the parking lot so you can see the corvettes. no discount on food , but 1 free chips and salsa per table and if your nice to the waitress maybe more. I will be there at 11:15AM to rope off parking area, so I get a front row spot, then I will be at the bar (2)- 1:00 - 1:30 PM leave Chili’s. (3)- Return on route 29 (south) stay in the SECOND right lane, @ 1 mile passing the 3rd traffic light turn right onto the 29/250 bypass I-64 (the one before the bridge), @ 1/2 miles exit off at the 1st exit Barracks Road route 654 at traffic light turn right, @ 8 miles turn left at route 810, @ 5 mile passing Crozet route 810 turns into route 240, @ 2 miles turn right on route 250 (west). Traveling @ 14 miles on route 250 (west) over the Afton Mountain, turn left onto the Blue Ridge Parkway (scenic)(south). (4)- Blue Ridge Parkway (south) @ 30 miles to route 56 turn left (east). (5)- Stop at Montebello (a very small town for the bathroom if needed) (6)- Back on route 56 @ 10 miles turn right onto route 151 (south). (7)- @ 5 miles then turn left onto route 56 again. (8)- @ 5 miles then turn left onto route 29 (north). (9)- @ 5 miles on route 29(north) to Lovingston (Mc Donald’s and fuel if needed) (10)- @ 7 miles to Woods Mill at route 6 and route 29 (we can stop at the Walton’s Store at that point, it is on the left side on route 6). At this point we can do @ 29 more miles of back roads or @ 22 miles to I 64. (11)- @ 18 miles on Route 6 turn right onto route 151 turn right onto route 250 (east) turn right onto I 64 (east).
