(SMC) Jly 26 Cruise in to Maggie Valley "Wheels Through Time" museum
I'm not sure where everyone would want to meet...Alcoa?? Any other suggestions? Leave starting point at 9 am
Cruise over the Smokey's to Oconaluftee Village Vistors Center. From Alcoa it is about 70 miles and should take about 1 hour 50 min (if you don't get behind a loopey cruising along at 20 MPH) We would join up here coming from Maggie Valley. Check out the village or take a walk along the river.
About 11:30 Head out and go a little further down the road hang a left and head up the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stopping at Look Outs allowed. Take the Maggie Valley exit. This is about 25 miles and should take about 35 min without stops.
About 12:30 Arrive at Snappy's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Great food with lots of choices...sandwiches, pizza, salads, soups, pasta, subs. You get the picture.
2:00 Cruise in to the Wheels Through Time museum. It normally costs $12 but they will give us a discount rate at $8 AND a guided tour. It is a museum of Vintage Transportation and very interesting. If you didn't want to go through you can hang out and chat. You can check it out at http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com
You can head back via I-40 or reverse your route.
Any suggestions are welcome and it doesn't necessarily have to be Sat the 26th, could be Sun 27th or another time.
Let's see if there is any interest in this.
