[MCV] Jim Reed Chevrolet’s Service Department - Nashville
[MCV] Has anyone used Jim Reed Chevrolet’s Service Department in Nashville Tennessee for Corvette work? Have any opinions on the quality of their work?

I have used them twice.
The first time they worked on my 96. Finished late in the day. And the
problem was diagnosed.
The second and last time was on my 99. I made an appointment two
weeks in advance, at the end of the day when I went to pick it up they
said they never had time to work on it.
Someone once told me that they give priority to cars that were purchased from them. Of course neither of my Vettes were bought from them.

Last year when I had my 40th Anniversary Ruby Red coupe (17K mile car), they scratched the hell out of my clear plexitop and denied everything. In their defense, after some bickering back and forth they did replace the plexi at their cost.
Then just last month I had a scheduled appt for 2 weeks to take my 99 in for a Steering Sensor problem and an oil change. I got all the way there and they had no record of my appointment :cuss They took me in, BUT only had time to do the $70 oil change. I checked the oil that night to find it was overfilled by a full qt. So, I still have a steering sensor problem, and don't know where to take it now (it's still under warranty).
So, in my opinion, I am very disappointed with their work.

I bought a 75 Corvette from them a few years ago. I was "baited" by a salesman names Busbee to come down to by a great 74 Vette for $4500 but when I got there, the car was "SOLD" but was still sitting on the showroom floor. Being young and stupid at the time, I bought a 75 Vette for $8400. I was a victim of the "bait and switch." Just to make things clear, that was in 1977 and I never went back. Knowing what I know now, I paid more for the 75 used than it sold for new. I was a big "sucker" and have never gotten over it after all these years. I wouldn't buy from Jim Reed if he was the only Corvette dealer in the US.
