(SMC) Saturday Night Drag racing with Tellico Village Vettes

Hey Gang,
Part of SMC went to the Home Builder Assoc. car show in Lenoir City. To our Surprise we met 8 other vette owners from the Tellico Village. One story and tall tale let to another. Before you know it, both groups were talking about merging a few events together.

Rob from the Village vettes sent me this invite last night..

I was talking to you today at the Home Builders Assoc. picnic at the Lenoir City park about our respective Corvette clubs. You mentioned the Knoxville Dragway and your plans for Thursday night. Our club is going there on Saturday night. There will be a special bracket?? for vettes only. If your Thursday night is rained out, or if you just want to get more time on the track, join us.

Looks like we have been invited to join an Corvette Bracket Race on Saturday night....

Isn't it about time you guy's started the Tenn/Kentucky area Corvette Challenge Bracket Series? You certainly have enough racers in your area.

Street Legal Corvette Class
This Saturday June 14, we will host a "Trophy Race" just for street legal vettes. Gates open at 3:30pm, time trials start at 5:00pm. Spectators $10.00, ages 12 and under are FREE! Come on out and check out the vettes.
Watch the weather and I'll see you there or are we meeting and caravaning??? Who is the head man on this rag tag bunch?

like to be there around 4:00 to cool the Hornet down! and make room for my Trophy in the trunk

I'm not going to make the races but was wondering if they went up on pricing just for this event or is that their regular Saturday pricing? What time y'all meeting at FD's? I may be able to make that? I can ALWAYS EAT!!!!!!!

Make room for JUDY'S trophy maybe! I recall a certain race in BG where a young "grasshopper" took the Hornet to school!!! :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

Listen up Race Fans the SMS will meet at O'Charlie's across from Knoxville
Center (in front off Home Depot) around 2:00 PM for a snack and caravan cruise to Knoxville Speedway for the all corvette race Saturday. We need to be there between 4:00 & 4:30 get signed in and put the chairs out. Time trails start at 5:00 PM sharp. Plan B (if they do not open the track) we will cruise down to K-Mart on Clinton Highway and check out the cars and see our friends. Plan C (if it's raining hard) well we will have a good time at O'Charlie's and tell lies and go home to play checkers! :D
