Corvettes of Naples is hosting a 50th anniversary show at Bob Taylor Chevrolet on Airport Pulling Rd Saturday 4/26.
The president, Glenn Hutchinson, n2vettes@earthlink.net is trying to get a coupe and roadster from each year and also the special production cars. If he can get all the cars there will be about 110 for the show. Glenn asked me to post this note to the group to see if anyone has one of the following Vettes and would be interested in helping them out by placing your Vette in the show. Here's what he still needs:
53 and 64 Coupe, 66 Coupe, 67 Coupe, 68 Coupe, 71 Conv., 72 Conv.,74 Coupe, 75 Coupe, 75 Conv., 80 Coupe,
81 Coupe, 85 Coupe, 86 Coupe, 88 Coupe, 90 Conv., 92 ZR1, 93 Conv., 93 ZR1, 93 - 40th Ann. Coupe, 94 Conv., 94-ZR1, 96 Conv., 96 Grand Sport Coupe & Conv., 97 Coupe, 98 Coupe, 99 Conv. 00 Hardtop, 03 -50th Ann. Coupe.. Or, if you have a special interest Vette, let him know, too.
Each car will be presented with a Special Plaque of Appreciation for the car that is in the 50th display. After the display is over (about 4 to 5pm) there will be a Bar B Q at the dealership and will also have a D.J. Everything should be over by 9:00pm. If anyone needs a room to stay overnight on Friday or Saturday night a special rate of $49.00 per night will be given to you at the Best Western Hotel exit 107 (old exit # 16) off of I-75. Be sure to tell the hotel that you are with the Corvette Show, Corvettes of Naples, or with Glenn Hutchinson, President of Corvettes of Naples to get this rate. Gary is the person he spoke with to get the special $49.00 rate.
I hope some of you can help the club out. This show promises to be a really nice one!
Please contact Glenn at the email address if you have questions or can help him out.
Thanks
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (LT1)
On top of all that's listed in LT1's post, once again, I'll be doing my Heritage Tour presentation, a walking tour of all the cars in the 50th Anniversary Display. :hurray: If you're interested in the history of the Corvette and how it has evolved over the years, this is for you. I think it will probably begin around 11AM. 'Hope to see ya'all there!
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (My 95)
Thanks for the email, Ken
I'm really sorry this date falls on such a busy weekend. It will be a very nice show. And, Marc will be doing his heritage tour which is always an education in Corvette!
I missed you at our show yesterday. I saw a couple of the Misfits but you had already gone. Glad you could make it for a while, though.
Thanks again for your help with this, ken
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (Mean Green 2000)
Bummer....it's a busy weekend. Well, there's nothing we can do about that. If you know of anyone who is not going and has one of the cars Glenn needs could you please head them in Glenn's direction? Thanks so much

I've been to Bob Taylor a time or two but with the new exit numbers I'm lost. Since I'm posting this for Glenn, I'll put his email address here again, drop him a line and ask him. He'll be more than happy to give you the CORRECT directions! n2vettes@earthlink.net
I'll try to catch up with him to give me the directions and I'll get them online in the next couple of days if you can wait.
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (02 C-5)
For those of you who can attend the show here's the directions:
Take exit 107(old exit 16) off I-75. Go to Airport-Pulling Rd. (at third light, just past the YMCA) and make right. Get in left lane immediately as Bob Taylor Chevrolet is on left at next light.
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (LT1)
Hey. Does anyone know if the '63 Grand Sport from Collier's museum is supposed to be there for the show? I think I saw it go by my office this afternoon on a flatbed car hauler (the museum is just past my office). I can't imagine they let it go far if it's not in an enclosed trailer. Bob Taylor is only 5-6 miles from the museum. Anybody heard anything about this?
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (JameyZ28)
You know, I don't know if it's one of the cars Glenn got or not. I think I heard him saying he had contacted them. But I wouldn't think it would be taken there yet the shows not till the 26th. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Are you going to the show?
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (LT1)
Yeah, I'll be going to the show. Gonna skip the Challenge this month and stay close to home, since I'm going to the NHRA event in Atlanta the following weekend. It would be cool to see the GS there. I drove through the Bob Taylor parking lot when I left the office last night, but they were already closed. I didn't get out of the car to see if was inside the showroom, as I was already late getting home.
Re: [MISFITS] 50TH Anniversary Show in Naples 4/26 (LT1)
I have a 97 coupe but to be honest I wouldnt enter it in a car show because it has a scratch on the right side from the previous owner. :( Nonetheless I still plan on attending to see all the other nice vettes! :chevy :)

You should email Glenn anyway. He may still need a '97 and he's said they don't have to be perfect. My '92 is far from a show car anymore but it'll be there to represent that year. Drop him a line if you're interested and let him decide. :yesnod:
Either way, see you there!
