A funeral
My aunt passed away Wed night, and I found out about it late last night. The funeral was today, and I barely had enough time to react to get there. She was elderly and had lived in a nursing home for the past few years of her life. She was the last surviving member of my father's family and had led a good life with a loving and caring family. God rest her soul; she is in a far better place now. :flag
I store my Vette at a house which I am trying to get ready to rent. The beater has been suject to the winter elements since the snow started a few weeks ago and as a result was basiclly nasty beyond words.... As a matter of respect, I don't feel any car in attendence of a funeral should be very dirty. It is disrepectful to all parties involved to show up with a nasty car, unless it is something that simply cannot be helped. I'm sure that my aunt would not have cared, but I do. The cemetary is approx 6-7 minutes from the Vette so I stopped and traded cars quickly and then went on to the service. It was an honor to be there no matter what means of transportation was used. I am thankful that I was able to attend. During the funeral procession, virtually all the cars in the oppsoing lanes stopped to show respect. Very impressive!
A sad reason to bring the Vette out, but there very few more honorable!!
