Trans-Am and Le Petit LeMans...at Rd, Atl in Ga Oct 11&12th
Who is going to be there? I'm there on Friday and Saturday. I'm shooting for the track and a couple of teams that are running in the event.
I'll be busy...but not too busy to meet up with anyone. There is Corvette only parking again this year at the top of the hill   It's always a great time at Rd Atl for this big race...DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!
Lets see who's gonna be there!!!
Me!!!!

I'll be there hadn't missed one yet :) I'll be up for Thursday night practice which I highly recommend awesome view of the cars with much fewer spectators. Then Friday and Saturday I'll be up there. I plan on camping out Friday night. See you there :seeya

I'd love to go, but Lissa's going to be in town that weekend, and I don't think she'd handle the 10 hours @ the track all that well... but the two of us are going to be doing team trivia @ TJ's on Holcomb Bridge Road Friday @ 8:30pm... we'd love it if you (and anyone else) would join us.

:seeya I'll be there! Can't go Friday, but I'm planning on an all day Saturday!! Where's the all Corvette parking? This will be my first time up there for a race, so I'm not terribly familiar with the layout.

Good question.. Parking??? I was reading from corvetteracing.com the following:
Corvette Racing and the Corvette Marketing Team are pleased to announce that Corvette owners will have access to special parking corrals at the remaining Corvette C5-R races in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). This special parking will accommodate approximately 100 cars and will be available to those driving a Corvette on a first-come, first-serve basis. Food and beverages will be available in the corrals courtesy of several corporate sponsors. So come cheer on the Corvette C5-R's to victory and make sure to get there early to ensure a Corvette Corral Parking spot
Question: Does anyone here know about this? Also, where are the Corvette Corral Parking spot located?
:yesnod:

Just made it home from getting a camp site. :) We should be able to see the megatron from camp. :D I have my tent set up overlooking turn 5 near the bathrooms just before you cross over the innerloop. You'll see a brown early 80s Chevy dually next to the fence then next camp over is my tent. A green 94 Jeep Sahara with a handicap tag and 3" body lift should be close by on saturday. See everyone at the track. :seeya

I'll be there Saturday. My tag is obvious. I should be wearing a white GM Racing hat w/blue logo.

I'm going up now. I'll be drinving my 90 Civic Hatch gold/ poop brown interior. ;) See you up there. :seeya Plan staying tonight at the track and eating dinner at Buffalo's.
Looks like it'll be dry raceday not sure if thats good or not for the C5Rs. That Prodrive Ferrari is fast when its dry.

just got back from the track...fun day....for info the Corvette Corral is too easy to find...after you get your ticket turn right...go up the hill..take the first left (there really isnt any other way to go) and soon as you cross the bridge its on your left...its a grassy area so not bad at all...I drove the truck today...was kinda worried about parking in mud etc...but am gonna take the vette in the morning....hope to see some of you there...

Great info. Is this in the infield area? When I bought tickets the Road Atlanta ticket rep. mentioned that the Corvette Corral was in the infield, so I also needed to purchase the infield pass. From looking at the map (link below) and taking not of your directions I am not sure if I wasted money on teh infield pass or not....

I was there on Friday & late in the evening, after 7pm or so they held a vette item auction. Had race gloves & posters & hats etc. The they brought out a C5R hood and front bumper that was wrecked in a race. They brought about $650 each. That hood would have looked cool in my garage!
Also they have a huge vette 50th truck set up. I missed it yesterday & hopefully I can sneak out early from work & see it tonight. Cartract mentioned they had some nice vette racing history books. I did see an anniversary parked next to the display.
The C5R team had this cool yellow moped with a vette flag on it & corvette writeen done the side. Im was sorry I forgot the camera.

Sorry I missed everyone Saturday...I cleaned the vette up etc Friday nite after I got home from the time trials...and got up early Saturday to go back to Road Atlanta...but you know sometimes that vette just runs so good and looks so nice its a shame to park it...so when I got to the Road Atlanta exit I thought I would go a little further and then turn around and go back and by the time I turned around I had gone almost 400 miles...!!!!... :smash: ended up on US 23 up through the Smokies....was a great run...780 miles....missed the race but had a great day.. :seeya
