Default Going to the Oak Tree Grand Prix @ VIR?

http://virnow.com/events/tudor-unite...-championship/

I went to the Oak Tree Grand Prix last year, had a blast.

I was torn between Corvettes At Carlisle and VIR for the race. (Who planned them the same freakin' weekend?!) Decided to go to VIR.

See you in the Corvette Corral!

Cheers,
JB

Going. I usually set up near turn 6 for these because the hospitality tents hog my favorite spot, turn 5.

How does this work? Is the Corvette Corral only on Friday? I was planning on going up on Saturday.

Also just figured out that kids 12 and under get in for free, so that's a plus.

Click "Buy" and you'll see all the options; 1-2-3 Day, car & driver, or car, driver & passenger...

One thing to double check, in Baltimore the last two years, the Corvette Corral included access to the Corvette tent, which included lunch, raffles, and a few other things. While track entrance is free to kids under 12, I'm not sure if the Corral access is also free to kids. (It may be, I really don't know but just want to make sure you aren't disappointed when you are there).

I'm going. Will be the kid's 3rd year going to a race. He totally loves it, although I would never bring his brother, who gets bored of the racing too easily. Here was 2012 (that's Tommy Milner, not me with him in the picture)

We'll be there a little on Friday and full days on Sat and Sunday. The support races, qualifying and such are also fun. We'll be rooting for the other Chevy's (Camaros) in the Continental race. Maybe a Chevy can take the Lamborhini challenge as well

Additionally, crowds should be smaller the other days, so easier access to good viewing.

Awesome pics! What a great memory to capture!

I was at Baltimore too. Saw Tommy posing with kids, signing autographs, etc. A fantastic experience for the children.

Cheers,
JB

Yes!

There is lots of green area at VIR, but not much in the way of grandstands.

Corvette Corral at VIR is on grass, and my 2013 427 (~5.5" clearance) had no trouble.

Cheers,
JB

So my 3.5" clearance 2008 Z06 should have no problems either?

If it's dry you'll probably be OK. If it will have rained and the ground is soft you might have a problem.
