I called and he was rude to me. Wanted him to fix the speedo in my '90. He told a c4 corvette was only worth about $2500 and his rate was $105(?) an hour. If I did dropped it off he didn't know when he could work on it. Told me he fired everyone and was working alone.

Good luck!

You could try cooper corvettes in Triangle, VA but you better bring $$$.

I would call John at Broadview. Top Notch service and knows our cars. I have a twin turbo vette and he does all my work. Also, maybe 45 to 50min from Chantilly.

Broadview Auto Service LLC.

Wow, funny I got the same rudeness last year when I went in with heating issues. Customer servive should be a MUST have when in this business.

Do yourself a favor and take a 40 min ride to Tony's Corvette in Gaithersburg, MD. You'll be blown away by the shop, professionalism, service, and most importantly customer reviews.

I can give another shout-out for Cooper Corvettes in Triangle, VA. Been bringing my Vette their for years (for things I can't do myself). I don't think they cost more than any other place. I think their labor is around $90 per hour. The deciding factor for taking my car their is that I trust them 100% to do the job right.

(540) 338-6500 in Purcellville, VA Ken knows Corvettes like the back of his hand, and you do not pay Corvette prices. VERY GOOD only person I allowed to work on my 63 SWC and my other Corvettes.

What are you trying to fix or mod? Why can't you do the work yourself.

I discovered Corvette Specialists from a member in my Corvette group...I am so glad I took my 65 there. Joe is the shop manager there and was more than helpful with recommendations of doing subtle changes to improve the handling but keeping the car mostly stock. This is expertise that you just can't find from the local shops that state they know Corvettes. THEY SIMPLY DON''T! Take your classic to Joe. You will be glad you did! Eric from Herndon

I wish I could do the work myself but unfortunately I don't have a garage or the necessary tools.

Just want a good honest shop that can do routine maintenance and not feel I like am getting ripped off everytime like going to a dealership.

Just to update an old thread, I've gone around the shop three or four times in the last year and it's never open. I take another make to a shop around the corner on williard. I don't know: fired all his employees and has a website still in Alexandria????

"About Corvette Specialists"

"Corvette Specialists was founded three decades ago at a small location on South Pickett Street in Alexandria, Virginia. Over the years, our shop moved several times trying to find workspace large enough to keep up with the growing demand for service. We have been at our current 8000 sq. ft. location, 5310 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, for 8 years. "

Another option locally is Mr. Tire on Backlick road in Springfield Virginia.

Gene used to be the lead mechanic at Corvette Specialist before Georgia sold it to Adrian.

Don't think think he can do performance mods at Mr. Tire. But a lot for Corvette owners go there for general mechanical work.

The business really changed when Georgia sold the company to Adrian after Gig passed away. They only have one mechanic now and Adrian is a service writer at a body shop. Go to Mr. Tire in Springfield ask for Gene.

I have a follow up to the thread about Corvette Motorsports in Chantilly VA.
I didn't have a good experience here. I wish I would have looked at the other reviews around the internet first. You pay a premium price here for what looks like a one man operation. Needless to say, Joe appears very well versed in Corvettes. He is very blunt and direct so be ready. His communications and updates were great. Now to why I'm un-happy...
I was having issues to where the original wiring harness needed to be changed. I asked if he could take pictures, because I document everything I do to my Vette. He was unable as he doesn't own a camera. I asked for all parts to be returned including the old fuse block. The front turn signal was replaced and that was the only part that was returned. The center console had to be replaced because of a missing support, I did not get that returned. I have lambo doors on my Vette and he understood the directions to operate them properly. I had paint chips on both doors when returned. I then noticed the seatbelts were dirty where he was sitting in the car and working, along with the door panel where the door pull trim panel is on the driver side. I have a hidden kill switch to disable the ignition to help keep it from getting stolen. The switch wasn't lit when I dropped it off, now the secret switch is lit up. I also had a lighted electric fan switch where I can reach it. This was relocated on the kick panel right next to my clutch and is now no longer lighted. I can't tell when it is on or off now when my foot accidently hits it. He also drilled a hole in my kick panel for the switch. The speakers in the rear were left unhooked and for me to resolve. I run a cable to my stereo hole to hook my iPhone up to my amp. The iPhone adapter is now gone and I had to disassemble the kick panel to get my cable run back over to my opening. I had my wires and vacuum hoses re-routed through my fender well, inside a protective tube to clean up the engine compartment. He was unable to run the new harness through the tube I had, so it was agreed to just run it normally. No problem, except he also re-routed my vacuum lines, removed my tube inside the fender well, then mounted the horn relay in the opening where he removed the tube...this would have allowed water to drench my horn relay if I got caught in the rain. The master cylinder cap hold downs were painted when I dropped it off, by the time he was done, I had to strip and re-paint them.
Here is why I'm even posting this review.....
When I got the Vette back, the top of the steering wheel was floppy. At some point he broke it, most likely getting the dash out or having to push the car around in the shop. He denied he could have done it. It's not a he said, she said kind of thing, I know it wasn't broken when I brought it in. It is dangerous to drive at this point. This is the ONLY thing I asked to be resolved out of everything. I was happy to settle for a replacement wheel and I would install it myself. This was not to be....
I've had multiple correspondence with the owner with no resolution. It's very clear customer service is almost nonexistent. To that end, he is more focused on the broken steering wheel than the paint chips, stained seatbelts & door panel, switch relocations, a hole drilled in my kick panel, speaker wiring and vacuum hose rerouting. There has been no attempt made to fix all the other items. He has only added personal insults and rude accusations. The work he performed on the car was excellent, the rest as you can see wasn't the best for a premium price.
At this point I’m going to seek a legal route as he is unwilling to do anything towards customer service.
You can tell his background as a Service Manager, deny everything that costs the shop a loss. Needless to say, I had quite a few Vette friends that have been looking to get work done on theirs...I was the test subject. The steering wheel was the only thing I complained about out of everything. That ended up being a costly item to the shop in repeat and referral business from myself and friends. Do your research and don't pick hastily like I did...

This is not an attack on this business, as that is not how forums are intended to work. My experience is posted here for others to make an educated decision. Do your research before making any decisions, don't go solely on my experience.

Default Cooper corvettes closing :(

Cooper corvettes closing

"To our customers,

It is with much regret that I must announce that Cooper Corvettes is going out of business. I have been in the Corvette business for many years. Sometimes great things need to come to an end. This is probably the most enjoyable job I have ever had. I have met a lot of nice people from all walks of life with a common interest in Corvettes. Our remaining inventory of Corvettes are available at exceptionally low prices! Make us an offer, and you could bring home a beautiful Corvette. At this point, we plan to close August 31st.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Arnold Jr.
President of Cooper Corvettes"
