Default I thought Corvette Forums was for Corvettes

What is going on here in the Southeast?
I have gone to countless GTG's and Corvette meets all over the country, and they are great, yet when I go to something advertised in the Southeast, I only see a few Corvettes but lots of Mustangs and Ricers.
I have been to one advertised get together in Old Town Kissimmee that was all Vettes. Luckily I have found a few Vette gatherings but they are not advertised, because they do not want the Mustangs and the Ricers to show up, who wants to look at them anyway. I love Corvettes, that is why I am a member here and not in a Mustang or Ricer Forum.
Hate me if you want to but I am a Vette kinda guy.

Maybe the vette guys are driving their cars instead of going to shows and meets. That's an excuse I can certainly understand.

But I have also put over 62,000 miles on my Vette since I bought the latest one...less than 4 years ago.

I tend to agree there are a lot of good Vette events coming up now that the weather has cooled off, but this forum isn't the best place to find out about them.

check into local corvette clubs in your area. I am a member of two corvette only clubs in my area and they update us on outings, cruise inns, open car shows and vette only car shows. Great common fellowship and some nice rides too

Or maybe, Corvette owners, like myself are car guys that like other makes/models as well as their Corvettes and enjoy being around other people with their different make /model cars. Some Corvette owners really crack me up, they act like "their Corvette" is the only high performance, fast, or best looking car there is.

Last all corvette show I went to, I walked up to a guy next to his C6 and a couple of others. they saw me getting out of my 75. one spoke up chuckling, hey you still got 165 HP in that? Said yeah give or take as I kept walking.
Got to a few C3's and overheard some guys gathered around a nice 70 BB next to a 79 and they were tearing into every nit picking thing they could find wrong with what they called a "rubber bumper" car.

I got in mine and left, there was tuner show down the road a piece. I was one of 3 chevys there and we got more respect and attention than all the others.

It is what you make it.

If it makes you feel any better, we have to deal with a guy with a POS Saab.

A little better....still would probably rather deal with a yuppie Saab guy versus our mid life crisis candy carrying creeper with a Genesis that has Brembos.

Oh no, it's not a yuppie car. It's a rusted out POS with an exhaust leak and it looks like the guy lives out of it.

But it's a Viggen and when he stage 3s it he's going to be the fastest car ever, lol.

I think the real problem is you're hanging out with a mid life crisis guy who thought it was a good idea to buy a Genesis Coupe.

I've always been a VETTE MAN too, but along the way I hotrodded a 72 Vega Hatchback with 327, a 280Z with 350, a 66 Mustang with new 302, a 69 Camaro w 350BB, a 68 GTO 396 w TriPower , and a couple others. If the world were full of nothing but Vettes, they wouldn't be so awesomely better than all the rest, right? Variety is the spice of life. Who cares if the Stangs and the Ricers go to our Vette get-togethers? Makes the Vettes look even better than by themselves IMO. It's like having a gorgeous gal on the beach; she looks even better if she's surrounded by, well, other girls, to put it nicely.
