I have done the long haul for the last 5 years - with it ending in my town of Charlotte - I plan on driving out to Texas and following the tour back to NC.

Its pretty fun - its more fun when you know people/meet people along the way.

I suggest going to bangshift.com - and look at there forums for the Power Tour.

There forum is very friendly and have people gather/info/more details about the tour then the Hot Rod website.

it's a great time. plan ahead! if you're still putting a car together for the tour, nothing provides better insurance than getting done in time to put a couple thousand shake down miles on it before you venture out.

Hey, we are going as well. We will leave from Greer . If we end up leaving at the same time do you want to cruise together?

We did the long haul in 2011. In fact I met a guy there that ultimately was the reason i bought our GS. We drove my 800 hp 79 Trans Am on that one. Looking forward to taking the supercharged GS on this one. We booked all our hotels 2 months ago.

PM me closer to the date.

From the looks of it - we are leaving either Friday at noon - or Friday after work and driving through the night to get down to Texas.

That 15 hour drive is going to suck.

I have done it the last 2 years and it is a great time. Amazing cars cars and cool people.

Will be doing it from Birhmingham to NC this year. Won't make the entire trip nor do I think I want to listen to sidepipes for 24hrs from Miami to Texas as they are LOUD

Mikey...LOL!!!

We might be able to run back to the I-75/I-10 crossign together on Sunday. Not sure if I am driving back to my parents in Niceville or go for it back all the way to Miami. My dad is doing the tour also in his C6 so either I will tag with him on the way back home or head to Miami.

I would really love to do the entire trip but work has its priorities.

I can confirm the Bose noise cancelling head phones honestly do work like a charm and any time I am driving more than 2hrs I put them on so I can hear the radio and if need be my cell phone. It is amazing how those headphones cancel out almost all the sidepipe noise. They really do work!!!
