Does anyone know who the previous owner of my 08 Black Z06 is? It was for sale at Peters Auto Mall in Raleigh NC about 2-3 months ago and had work done to it by RPM Motorsports. I called them to see if they could tell me more info about the car, but they need the previous owner name in order to tell me.

Just a reminder to get your tickets if you're planning on going next weekend.

It should be pretty entertaining with 40 cars on a 2.25 mile circuit. I was thinking of setting up on the hill above turn 5 which gives you a view from the start/finish line, into turn 1, around turns 2, 3 and 4, turn 5 is right in front of you, turn 6 and all the way to the Coca-Cola bridge.

A couple pop-ups, some chairs, a cooler and a grill and 40 V8-powered automobiles should make for a pleasant afternoon. Tickets are only $10.

hey guys - - this is another cool event at NCCAR - format is timed 1 lap - you're spread out at the start so as not to run up on another car and timed for one lap...
Unfortunately I can't make this one either, cars back up, but will be on a business trip to Canada...

Default 2014 Heacock Classic at VIR Sept. 26-28th

Heacock Classic Gold Cup Historic Races & Car Show

I'll be there on Saturday the 27th. Saturday has the biggest fields for the vintage races, but Sunday will have the Trans-Am race.

This Sunday I'm going to do some laps in a late model stock car. I'm considering one of these as a track day car for VIR, but I want to drive one before I commit to anything.

It's pretty reasonable with a Groupon, $44 for 5 orientation laps as a passenger and $132 to drive 20 laps with an instructor. Just go to the Groupon site and select "Raleigh/Durham" and search "Short Track Racing Experience."

My friend did this exact groupon a few months ago, 20 laps, one of the best days of his life. I went with him and we got to drive our vettes on southern national a few laps since it was a really slow day, no one was there. Get the insurance that they offer, its worth the few extra bucks.

I'm glad he enjoyed it. I wasn't planning it, but I'll definitely take the Corvette if they'll let me take it on the track. Southern National is a bit of a ride for me from Hillsborough, but I think it's going to be well worth it.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal. I did it two years ago on a Groupon special and loved it. I just signed up again. For me, it was more fun than the big NASCAR racing experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I felt more in control and as with another poster, I had a slow day and personal attention - not a cattle-car "process the crowds" zoo. I loved being able to follow a professional one-on-one around the track for perfect lines.

The guys running the business side of things seemed a little loose... We had trouble with my initial reservation date and then they didn't have me on their sheet when I showed up, but it didn't matter. I got in all my driving time. It's a very informal atmosphere with good ol' boys who just like driving fast. Recommended!

I had a great time today. It was a bit of a drive from Hillsborough, but it was definitely worth it.

Looks like I'll be there! Thanks for the heads up. What time does it start?

And I'll probably have to take my truck...I'll have my GF and the kiddo. I thought briefly about strapping the kid to the hood of the vette, but that might be frowned upon nowadays.
