I break the mold, 41 yo, CAI, Ported TB and IM, headers, Exhaust, tune.

OP, will stick to the topic, informal group/performance oriented is cool too.

Thanks...I wouldn't mind hitting up CMP and Road Atlanta for just those days...ride there, run the course, and ride back.

Located in Youngsville. Have trouble making many events due to schedule, but def interested in finding a way onto VIR's track at some point soon.

I would also like to put together a (potentially short) list of good driving roads around the triangle.

This one from the Miata guys covers NC and is quite good. Mostly mountain roads listed. Did a bunch this fall and they are great.

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=448024

First two contributions is Green Road in Youngsville:

And Beaverdam Road by Falls Lake:

Anyone got others?

You've gotta do VIR too.

It doesn't have the nickname VIRburgring for nothing.

This spring I'm going to organize a day-long trip out by Winston-Salem. Two great routes are SRs 8 and 66 between Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain State Parks. I got lost in my Nissan once and ended up driving the length of Route 8. It was the most fun I've ever had when I've been completely lost.

Rutherford County Corvettes is planning an all Corvette show in Forest City NC on April 27. We'd love for you guys to get a group together and come spend the day with us. Forest City is about 60 west of Charlotte. The show will be for charity. We are in the early planning stages as of now, stay tuned for more info coming very soon.

My understanding is that the rainout date is Saturday, January 5th.

That would make a Cars & Coffee at 259 New Waverly Place in Cary in the a.m., and a cruise-in at Grill 57 in Garner in the afternoon.

Just found this thread. All sounds great. I'm about two hours away on US 70 (east-wise), so I would love to make it to some stuff in the area.

Most likely won't make Waverly because my Ported Throttle Body is still on FedEx set-up for Saturday AM delivery (fedex is late!!!). Will only take 10 minutes to install. If it arrives before 9:30 I'll make Waverly too. I'll make grill 57.
