You may have more up-to-date information, but I have been on the emails for the Louisville caravan. The last email I received stated the caravan would be leaving Churchill Downs at approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Let me know if your information is more up-to-date, as it would impact my hotel reservations. Thanks

Well nuts. I did not get to the Castle last month. Hope to make it this month. However, we are gathering at the Starbucks in Crestwood (exit 14 off I-71) Saturday morning around 8:00am. We will leave at 8:30 and cruise to Captain's Quarter's for Cars & Coffee. Remember they are charging $5.00 per car this time. See you all there.

Very good turnout. I am going to Cruisin' the Castle Friday. Weather looks good. I have not been able to make one of those all season and I miss them. Hope to see some of you there.

Yes, it will be held on the 3rd Friday of every month. Not sure how long we will go into the year. Probably depends on the weather. Details forthcoming. Please feel free to attend our club meeting at Rooster's on Shelbyville Rd. this Thursday at 7 pm.

Cruise the "Copperhead Trail" this Saturday
There's a lot going on this weekend including cruising the "Copperhead Trail."
Derby City Corvette Club, after a great three day trip to the "Tail of the Dragon" last year thought we could find something comparable closer to home...and without bumper-to-bumper traffic. Hence, The "Copperhead Trail." We have laid out a route through the hills of Southern Indiana from Corydon to the town of ST. Meinrad...generally following US 62, but not completely. This route is through rolling farm land, rock canyons and some of the Hoosier National Forest. There is a total elevation change of about 600 feet. It is all on well paved state and county roads, but you will hear banjo music in some parts. Here's the bottom line...the "Copperhead Trail" consists of 251 turns in 51 miles.
The end of the trail will be at the Benedictine Archabbey of Saint Meinrad. We have arranged for a guided tour of the Archabbey for our group. This is an opportunity to visit fantastic medieval architecture and look into a monastic way of way of life that stretches back to at least the 4th century. After the tour we will visit the gift shop where many of the items are made by the Monks themselves. After the visit to Saint Meinrad we will continue on to Jasper, Indiana for dinner at the "Schnitzelbank" German restaurant. You will order from the extensive menu and pay for your own dinner.
We will meet at the Kentjava Coffee Bar at 228 Chestnut Street in Corydon at 11:30 AM (EDT). KentJava, run by local hostess Sherrie Watson, serves great coffees, Italian ices and fruit smoothies, and, pannini's that are out of this world. Kentjava also has a clean restroom. Park on Chestnut or one short block away on the Town Square.
Meeting for registration at 11:30 AM we will leave Corydon about 12:30 PM for the Cruise. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS EVENT! At the pre-cruise meeting I will talk about the route, what to watch for and why we named it the "Copperhead Trail." If you come early, 11:30-ish, there will be plenty of time before the cruise to stroll around The Corydon Square and see some of the way cool shops and historical buildings.
Come on out Saturday. The scenery is glorious, the weather is supposed to be wonderful, the trees are just starting to change, the tour through the Archabbey and grounds will be quite an experience and the food on each end will be fantastic. And did I mention IT"S FREE! You only pay for your gas and food. (BTW, unleaded in Corydon today was $3.41.)
If you'd like to participate, please PM me so I'll know if I need to arrange for more parking and/or obtain a police escort out of town. The event will go rain or shine.
Did I mention It's free?
Hope to see you Saturday,
Gunny John

Great meeting you at the Bob Hook Car Show! Sorry I couldn't make it this weekend...between cleaning the garage and the yard sale...wiped me out!
After you left, I won this, though !!! Mahogany table with twin built in coolers, umbrella, tons of mixers, a bottle of Irish Whiskey, 8 small bottles of Canadian Whiskey, and a 6 pack of Jim Beam and Coke, premade...not too shabby!
