I've heard Cooper Corvettes in Triangle (Quantico) does good work.

If you're referring to Body Shops - I highly recommend D&V Autobody in Chantilly, VA.

For body work I can recommend Eurosport Autobody in Lorton who did an exceptional job in putting together the disparate pieces (Caravaggio front fascia, GS front fenders, Caravaggio rear fenders and Lingenfelter rear fascia) on my '05 coupe.

For mechanical work I would suggest Curry's automotive (multiple locations) or Tony's Corvettes in Gaithersburg.

If you're looking for a good Chevy dealer shop, our club uses Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax

They give discounts to club members, have a designated contact for us, and I've seen them do good troubleshooting work on another member's car.

And since you're new to the area, welcome! And check out the Northern VA Corvette Club: http://www.nvcorvetteclub.com/

-100 Tony's Corvettes Customer service, prices and C5/C6 tuning.... poor. However, great for C1, C2 and C3 Corvettes.

My experience was from approx. 4 to 5 years ago... perhaps they've improved.

Really, Tony's is bad? I had only heard good things (but all third-hand, not from someone who has ever taken their car there).

I live in the No VA area and the guy I bought my car from highly recommended Tony's. What's the issue?

Poor service, unskilled techs. I took my C3 to have the column fixed and they did a **** job. He was paid to fix the column but didn't do it. "best he can do" Talked to tony and he told me to talk to the guy that did the work. He didn't want to be bothered with it or whatever. Just an over all poor experience for the money involved.

Tony was NOT and is NOT a mechanic but he was an accountant before opening the shop.

I've heard Koons in Tysons is the best bet dealer wise, but I've yet to take the Vette there. They seemed nice enough when I took my wife's Tahoe in for service.

I pray I never need to find out first hand (although I've been debating changing the hood), but I recall reading Stingrays Auto Body in Purcellville was supposed to be a good body shop specifically for Vettes.

In the past I've taken it to Joe Malo (Corvette mechanic) at Koons Tysons when absolutely necessary, but usually take it to a friend as I'd rather give the $ to him rather than a corporation. In a pinch I've also gone to Jim McKay.

Stingray's has been great in the body/paint department. I've used them before and plan on using them again for some more work this year.

Who would you guys recommend for performance work?

I'm thinking I might want to change my supercharger setup, and even if I don't it's just a matter of time before I'm going to need to get something fixed.

Well I'm not ready to do anything just yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if I find myself needing an upgraded rear end in the not too distant future.

On another note, I took my GS into Koons today. I wanted the body shop to take a look at the front fascia which was lifting a little at the corner by the passenger headlight.

It was a broken clip which they fixed for free and in less than half an hour. Graham Arrington was the name of the guy who helped me out.

I just moved to the DC area so I'm interested as well as to what good shops are around for all types of work, auto body, performance, tuning, and regular maintenance and repair.

I just got all new rotors, pads, and a brake fluid flush last week at Jim McKay's in Fairfax. Their turnaround time was really fast (1 day) and Ricky in their service shop gave me a 10% discount after misquoting the estimate over the phone.

The brake job held up at Summit Point last Saturday, so they do good maintenance work in my book.
