Thanks very much for the info!!
I can't get that link to work, but after going to the home page for the Florida Corvette Club I got this link:
http://floridacorvetteclub.com/activ...ages/r2412.pdf
Another thing that my wife and I have done the last couple years is the Taste of 24. You get a 2 day ticket for the race, and there is tram service from the Fan Zone in the infield to the SuperStretch (back straight) where the food is served from 6:00 to 10:00 in the evening. You will get stuffed on the great food from a couple dozen local restaurants, and you get to watch the race from the skybox suites high above the SuperStretch. Here's a link to info:
http://www.daytonastate.edu/foundation/tasteof24.html
BTW, the price for the Taste of 24 that is indicated in that link above is $95. The past couple years it was the same, except that if you didn't want to include a raffle ticket for a Rolex watch it cost $20 less, i.e. I imagine that this year it will also be $75 for a race ticket and the food event without a raffle ticket for a watch. That includes parking by gate 70 on the back side and tram to the infield.j
Also in previous years, if you already had race tickets, access to watching the race from the SuperStretch skyboxes Saturday evening and the food event was about $50 as I recall.
So....I may get the Corvette Corral tickets and just purchase the $50 Taste of 24 tickets!!

Yes - let's get together Friday evening for dinner!!
We've done the Stonewood Grill in Ormond Beach the last couple years, but this year we'll be meeting at Miller's Ale House-Daytona at 7:00PM this year.
The Ale House is right off of Int'l Speedway Blvd, just west of the track down by I-95.
Anybody who is interested in joining us Friday night Jan 27th, let me know so I can try to get us enough space reserved for our party.

Just received a call from the Speedway asking if I wanted to drive Friday morning in the "Corvette Lap" around the Daytona Speedway. Now that was a hard question to reply too. Anyone else get the call?
Now how to get a picture of me driving, with me in the car. lol

I've done about 6 or 8 HPDE's at Daytona, so I've got a lot of time running around the Rolex 24 course, but I'd still love to do the "Corvette Lap".
Do you have any contact #???
If you find out anybody to contact for more info I'd love to know so I can run the ZR1 around the track.

Here's some info from the C5/C6 Registry about the Corvette Corral:
That info indicates that 150 cars can do the Corvette Lap, but the link at the bottom (Corral Flyer) says the first 100 that register get to run one lap of the Rolex 24 course.
So.....whether it's 100 or 150, or whether it's the first 100/150 to register, or the first 100/150 to show up Friday morning - I dunno!?!?
If somebody calls TJ Wagner and finds out anything, let us all know!!

I called TJ Wagner today. He said the first 150 that "REGISTER" for "Friday" will be the ones that will be doing the Corvette Lap.
The Corvette Corral for Friday apparently will include parking in the infield, the Corvette Lap, the racing that goes on Friday (I think some practice/testing for the 24 hour, plus a couple hour race in the afternoon - it used to be called the Continental Tire Challenge, but it might have a different name this year).
TJ said there are still slots available for the Corvette Lap (it's just one lap around the Rolex 24 road course). It will be at 8:00AM Friday morning. If you want to do the Corvette Lap, call or email TJ ASAP - his contact phone# and email are in post# 16.
Also, let me know if you want to get together with us for dining Friday evening. I need a head count to make sure we get enough space in the restaurant.
