Goldsboro, NC Carshow at SJAFB
Anyone want to go? Here's some info:
Saturday March 30, 2002
Seymor Johnson Air Force Base 6th Annual Car Show. Debden Park. Goldsboro. 9 AM - 4 PM. 15 award classes. Pre-registration only (must be received on or before March 22. $10 per judged vehicle, $5 per non-judged vehicle. Sponsored by Neuse River Corvette Club. Each car show participant will have the opportunity to have his or her vehicle professionally photographed with an F-15E in the background. There will be a food court available. Contact Harry Senatz at (919) 751-3066, 6-8 PM only. Email harry.senatz@seymourjohnson.af.mil -or- hsenatz@nc.rr.com
Registration is due pretty soon. I left Harry an email to see if we could provide registration via email and pay when we get there. Will advise when I hear back.
Raleigh area folks... even if you're not into staying the whole day (like me), let's at least caravan down there (the fun part!). We could meet at Lowe's in Garner at 8 AM. Anyone?

Wassup Chris!? Sounds good to me. I missed this last adventure down there, so I'm gonna make this one... if I can get a wakeup call...maybe you could swing by, back up to the living room windows and give Reveille that morning

We're definitely meeting at the Lowe's in Garner at 8 AM for the caravan down. If anybody needs an application form I can email one to you. You'll need to get it in the mail by this Sat. so they can receive it by the first of next week.

FYI... I was curious, so asked and got this response:
Unless you're a Department of Defense ID Card holder, this car show can only be attended by folks that pre-register (and their guests listed on the form). It's not open to the general public, so it's important to send in the registration form. In other words, you can't tag along and expect to walk onto the base as a civilian to see the show.

It's an O.K. show... but, I guess if your not a local or club member you don't stand a chance at winning First Place :yesnod: I had just won a First Place Trophy in Charlotte NC in March for one of the Major Magazines. I went to Goldsbo NC because my niece wanted us to show the Vette...her husband was stationed there. We still won but it was for Third Place  It's a nice drive! :D
