By all means, GO!! I have gone the past 22 years missing 2 shows. Usually between 5,000 and 7,500 cars, I am sure the economy will affect it some.

In the evening there is a unorganized cruise up and down A1A, with a gathering at the Belaire Plaza.

I go every year as well. Thought I was gonna miss it this year as my house was robbed a week ago, but I'll be there. I'll be in the Ormond Plaza(Bel aire) from Wednesday to Saturday night. I'll have my '05 Blue GTO with Weld Pro Stars and blue flames painted on the FRC's. Whoever goes, look for me there!

We go every year, the whole family goes and we celebrate Thanksgiving down there. More cars than you can see and you don't have to step foot inside the actual event at the Speedway to see all you want to. We do other things to break up the week - go to St Augustine, do touristy things. It is a fun event.

Don't miss Wednesday night outside the speedway - there are lots of events held there starting about 6 or 7 o'clock.

Thanks! Yeah it sux! Could have been worse, only about $8K in jewelry and guns. All guns have been serial #'d with local authorities. Had to go buy a new carry piece to get me by. Anyhow...not trying to hi-jack.....back to our regularly scheduled programming! LOL

Here's a stitched view showing just a small portion of the Car Corral, which is only one section of the show. I usually do a day-trip on Friday, but one day doesn't do it justice.............

GO YOU MUST! says Yoda. Its the best show all year. You get to walk on part of the track which is awesome. Some of the best Hot rods can be seen & bought throughout . Fields of used parts and other interesting stuff plus all the festivas food you can want. What more can a car guy want

Looks like you guys talked me into it
Any suggestions on hotels that will not break the bank, have ocean front rooms (wife's stipulation) and are not complete roach motels.

They may be booked already due to show?? If not search north and south of Daytona. St Augustine is about as far north as you want to go and Cocoa beach to the south.

OK, I found a hotel on the corner or International Speedway and 1A1
It is the Daytona Inn Beach Resort, anyone know if it is a decent hotel?
The location is great and the price was not too bad, under $100 a night for ocean front studio.

You might wanna street view that Hotel on Google, there's some old crappy hotels around that spot. Call one of the realtors that handle time shares and condos, might get a condo for a better price! I'm at Plantation Island in Ormond, condos, not a hotel. Most hotels want a 3 day minimum, may have a better shot with a condo rental.

Check hotwire or orbitz. I got a 4 star resort hotel on the beach for $79.00 a nite.

orbitz is where I found the hotel I ask about,
I checked the reviews on it and they were all pretty good.
The other hotels that I had looked at had terrible reviews.

I always hit the swap meet first, and I usually end up burning up the entire day just checking out parts.

I thinking about heading up Friday, I can’t do Saturday because I will be at the Swamp watching my Gators destroy what little self esteem the ‘Noles might have left.
