HELP: Anyone in South Carolina have paint/body work done by Love Chevrolet
My mother was on her way to Hilton Head yesterday AM when her '99 vert was run off the highway by a semi. Semi driver at fault came in her lane and hit her in the RR as she was passing on the left. Car was sent into the median/grass/bushes; mom's 100% fine and is in Hilton Head playing golf as we speak.
Car was flatbedded to Love Chevrolet. I used to be a GEICO adjuster so I know the ins/outs of the business and how to handle all of this. I just need to know if Love Chevy does good work. My mother is a car person and was impressed with the level of service thus far.
They are an Allstate premier shop (parents have Allstate) so the repairs are guaranteed for life and if there are any quality issues Allstate will pay for the repairs at any shop even if back at their home in Greensboro so they don't have to go back/forth with a shop in another state.
Car may/may not be totaled. Looks like it needs a rear facia, right quarter, right door, RR suspension, and RR wheel/tire. No frame damage noticable from the pics. First step will be to get the car on a lift and inspect the suspension/chassis. Due to the bushes etc the left side was scratched up as well, car will need a full repaint.
Figure the car is worth $15-$18k right now we'd need north of a 10k repair to get close to a total loss.
I do not know about their body shop however, when I bought a Grand National in FL and drove it home, when I had problems, it was Love who took care of my car!
They literally made me the #1 guy in their day. No issues!
I'm not sure about Love, never really heard that much about there body shop. I do know there is a shop about a mile from them that does all of the corvette body work around here. The shop is Knight enterprises and there phone# is 803 796 4616
I hit a fox with my 02 Z a couple years ago and he put a new front bumper on it and color matched the Quicksilver perfect. Tell him Tre Grimm sent ya
Not sure about that, but he doesn't do a whole lot of insurance work anymore. I think he trys to do more custom work, or basically not working on any junk. All the corvette club guys take there cars to him for any paint work. Hes got a airbrusher that work with him as well. He painted one of most winning show vettes in the country.
