Anyone driving up from the Tampa Bay area on Thursday, Oct 2nd? I'm hoping to get out of town around 6:00-6:30am. Also for a heads up, there have been some bad gas shortages around Atlanta so make sure to top off before getting too far into georgia.

The gas shortage is true. I don't know for how long...but one of the local major gas distributors can't even get his hands on any to resell.

There are a couple of local truck stops where I buy mine. Knock on wood...they have had it each time I stopped in. So, you may have to keep an eye open for Flying J, etc..truck stops around the area vs. gas stations only.

I live very close to Road Atlanta and I haven't had a problem buying fuel. Flowery Branch, GA to be exact.

Are you guys going to park in the Corvette corral at the Petit LeMans?

I hope too. I'll be finding out tomorrow. I wish I could get the nose repainted before going, but what the hell.

I may be leaving that day/time. I'll post again as we get closer to the date. My work schedule is very much last minute right now.

I'm registered for the Corvette Corral, although I prefer to watch the race at turn 10-A/B. Not arriving until Saturday morning.

I'll be in the corral. Been there for several years. Red '65 Vert with '65 GA plate on back and '65 NC plate on front.

I didn't see anything about a lunch this year....

Still trying to decide whether to stay Friday night or not. Where is everyone staying ? The only rooms I found are 20 miles away.

Grey Ghost........You were right. Today, I had to go to 4 different gas stations before I found one with gas for sale......and this place limited it to $25.00 worth.

Hope this condition doesn't last too long.

As far as rooms go checkout this location. It's about 20 minutes from the track. You can also look in the Suwannee or Buford (Mall of Georgia) area.

I'm bringing a tent and hanging out with some friends. Should have photo passes so I'll actually be walking the track most of the time. If you get to the track before 6:00 friday night, make sure to hit up the Johnny O auction. When you buy your tickets make sure to tell them it's for the Johnny O'Connell Charity Fund as well.

I've brought my '65 vert several times, but probably will come in the C6 this year since gas availability may be an issue.

Its got me a little worried about driving mine...I will have to have some to get back home. I just got back from ATL. and they are lined up 20 deep trying to get into the stations that have gas...and they are limited to how much you can pump.

I can make it about 200 miles in my '65 if I don't use the vintage air, but don't want the hassle of having to chase down gasoline in it. Besides, my car's a BB and doesn't like to wait in line.

The online reports I've seen indicate gas availability is an issue all along I-20 through Alabama and Georgia, so I'll plan on coming in the C6 this year.

I just went to a cruise-in last w/e out Hwy 20 in Canton. All of the stations were out of gas. Leaving for a cruise in today most of the stations around my town are out of gas. If not, they only have regular. I know you BB wouldn't like that stuff

I may be driving my pick em up truck

Hope to hear some reports from the local people this week.

My tuner said I didn't have to worry about running on 87, but I am picking up some Torco octane booster to bring with me just in case there isn't any 91/93 to be had.

If I have to put 87 in the C6, I will, but wouldn't want to chance it in the '65 BB -- no knock sensors!

And, yes, if anybody in the vicinity of Road Atlanta or along I/20 west of ATL and/or I-85 east of ATL can post fuel availability updates it would be appreciated.

As of today, lack of fuel in the Atlanta area is still an issue. Today, I found a Shell station that was only selling regular. On Saturday, I found an Exxon on Hwy 53 & Martin Rd. (few miles from Road Atlanta) that was only selling Premium.

The TV News said this fuel issue should be resolved early this week. We'll see.

I'll keep you posted.

Wish I could go this year! Got an offer to work this event, but can't get time off work to get down there in time.

I'll make it next year for sure!

Hope you all find enough fuel to make it!

After much procrastinating I have finally decided to go this year. I have never been before so I have a question. I have looked for information on the Corvette corral and cannot find any way to still sign up for it. I am assuming it is too late for the corral. Is this a good assumption? If it is not to late how do I go about signing up.

Even if it is to late for the corral I can’t wait to go and maybe I will see some of you all around the track.
