Default Interest in forming a group in North Georgia

We are organizing a club in the north Georgia area including Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, Forsyth, and anyone else who would be interested. There is no fee to join, the only requirement is you have to love vettes and life. Please PM me with your information if you have interest in joining. We will attend GA events coordinated by the GA events coordinator as well as host our own, including mini mod days, cruses, and road trips to cool places which all who wish to attend will be welcome with enthusiasm. Looking forward to your responses.

I shouldn't be overly surprised to see this. After 7 years of being an organizer for off-road and car events, this is the first time I've ever had any sort of response from my group like this.

I'm absolutely floored at the posts and PM's (and personal attacks) a couple of you had made in regards to the decision we had made about the mountain run this past weekend. A few of you went so far as to take it as 'being left out' when I rescheduled it to the following day due to a 50% chance of rain.
That decision had nothing to do with 'we don't want our corvettes to melt' it was made because corvettes on tight, curvy, wet roads can lead to wrecks, and I didn't want to risk anyone having an accident. But I'm real glad you all saw it that way.

From now on, I'll remember to disregard the safety of my group in order to please everyone.

I am not part of the personal attacks or the political stuff, I simpily don't roll that way, never have. I also don't agree that you should EVER disregard the safety the group. With that said, forming a local group has nothing to do with your decision. I am just trying to organize with a group of locals where we can meet on a more frequent basis. Actually, it's better for us all. We can be more organized and streamline communications that way. Keep doing what you are doing, you do it well. Again....it's not a personal thing!

Your PM to me would suggest otherwise.

The existing Georgia Crew encompasses the entire Atlanta Metro, and up until this past weekend's event, that seems to have sufficed. With a majority of the members in the Gwinnett / Hall area, we've never had a single issue with 'organization'.

Yes. Might as well make it a Springer episode for all the non-north Georgia peeps that are left out.

That's were the communication breaks down for the new folks. No where is there a post from YOU stating that the Saturday Run is officially cancelled. The closest thing is an apology about the confusion at 8:07 am when most of us were already on the road. I did not think that if DixiVette or Handful were not going, that the event would be cancelled. Oh well it all turned out good so thanks Yamahajo for organizing this event in the first place. You do not deserve the grief for doing a good thing.

I'll tell you what, I opened my home for 2 mini-mod days and good old Corvette enthusiasm and since then because of one persons opinion I have been exiled by certain people because they cannot seperate issues. My son had an opinion, I respect that. The few others had an opinion, I respect that. The bottom line is, without any fluff that it was a very half assed attempt of communication when the Saturday run was cancelled. This has gone far enough. Use the site for corvettes, grow up and enjoy the damn rides. Stop using the site for high school activities. Don't bother responding, it will not be read because I am so done with this s--t.
