Its approaching that time of the year when I need to get all of my cars inspected. I'm looking for advice on where to go, I'm in Chesapeake.
my rockers are already cracked and there are dents in the factory tie down slots. I can barely get jacking pucks in there because of the damage while the car was under the previous owner's care. I hate the idea of letting someone else touch my cars especially in the name of this stupid "safety" inspection crap. so I'm looking for a place which does it quick and simple. there is a place I know in Roanoke, they don't put the car on a lift, they don't open the hood, they don't remove any wheels (and thus they don't torque them down improperly) they pull the car in, make sure the brakes feel good, tires have pressure, all lights work, horn beeps and wipers are in good shape then they put the sticker on it. you're in and out in 5 minutes. If I have to get inspected, that's the way I want to do it. (1 in Nov, 1 in Dec, 1 in Jan) if I can't find a good place here, I'll make the drive with all 3 of my cars and take it to them. I don't need anyone else to tell me when I'm low on washer fluid or need new brakes, I can tell on my own, I really don't want to see my cars take any more damage because of these stupid inspections. I got one possible good place from another member who is in Suffolk. that might be where I'm going, but just in case, anyplace the Ratpack recommends? PM Me!
Ed refers folks to the Mineikie (sp?) Muffler shop on Indian River Rd near the corner of Mil Hwy. Going No. on Mil Hwy turn rt on Ind Riv it's right there on the right.
I take my cars to Betterton and Whitlow on Tilden Ave. in Great Bridge. I have the Y2K wheels on my 99' and the ZR-1 wheels on my 86' and their guy said he can see what he needs to see without removing the wheels. I don't know if he is still there because I have all my inspections in December, but that's how it was last year.
