Default Window Tint

I'm sure this has been brought up quite a few times...

However, I am in need of some advice/help.

I recently moved from FL and am trying to get my vehicle inspected in Maryland. The inspector would not pass the vehicle based on the darkness of the tint. FL is important here b/c it was legal there. I spoke to a few guys at the Skyline Cruise who generally went to the same particular "inspectors" for such issues.

Does anyone have any advice for said situation?

Thank you from the new-comer...

I moved from florida to Alexandria VA back in 1986 with a car with dark tint. As far as I can remember there is no way around it. You will have to remove the dark tint or change to a lighter tint. I kept my Fl tags on my vehicle to get around this. I since moved back to Florida and don't have to worry about it anymore. Good Luck!!!!

Move to VA. Window tint is not an inspection item except for the windshield.

HOWEVER.....you can get a ticket for it, which was proven to me last Saturday after the Skyline Drive cruise

$91

If you can keep your tags you can keep the tint, BUT even with out of state tags, you may still get pulled...and if they seem a little on edge at first before you roll down the window, don't forget, they LEO is just trying to protect himself from something he can't see.

As blowtorch said in VA the can and will pull you and ticket you just for your window tint. And if you get a real cocky LEO...well, my brother and a guy at work the LEOs that stopped them made them peel the tint right then and there at the stop. (the guy at work just had it done <limo tint> the day before )

Good luck with whatever direction you decide to go with this.

Not entirely true. I have 2 tickets from the lovely county of New Kent as reference.

35% is legal for rear and rear side windows. The front driver and passenger side windows limit is 50%.
